    Hey,

I am thinking of getting this shell for my 1999 Prerunner 2WD Ext Cab. It should fit perfectly. I am offering to buy the shell of this truck, and the seller is into it. What do you think a good asking price is? He also said it leaks a little bit, but shouldn't leak once it re-sits on my truck. Does that sound right?

    Thanks for anyone's help!

Ah okay, good to know. I offered 500 so I'm glad I am well below your suggestion. I just hope the leaking isn't a problem. Maybe I can do sealing tape for my trip across th country, because that's the only time I'd really worry about it, with all my crap in there.

These are pretty good canopies, right? They are not too heavy?

Find out where its leaking and repair it. It may be as simple as just buying new weatherstripping. Should be all good.

    Pretty much stock right now
I have an ARE MX. It came on a 2000 extra cab I owned some time ago, and I've kept it ever since. The extra headroom is great when you need to climb in there to get something.

Mine leaks a little because I don't have a rail gasket (between the shell and the truck bed). But the shell does not leak at all. It could though, with all the windows. Check it over carefully.

EDIT: I still have the original bill of sale for it from the original owner. He paid something like the above mentioned $1,800, and it was painted to match the truck. Too bad the truck died of rust poisoning, but the shell lives on.
