TW- In need of some BIG help here. Let me start by saying I'm probably the least mechanically inclined person on this forum. I have been watching/reading for years and love everybody's posts and how the community helps each other out and have tried very small things over the years with success.

I decided to change my spark plugs finally after seemingly 10 million miles and did so successfully... or so I thought until I started putting everything back together. I'm 99% sure I tore one of the hoses under the air intake out from it's insert point. I have 0 idea what the hose does and am in need of some help/ideas. Can I drive the truck to the mechanic tomorrow? The sun has just set and I have work bright and early. Any assistance at all would be seriously appreciated at this point.IMG_20170808_194538123_LI.jpg IMG_20170808_194842705_LI.jpg

It's just air injection emissions bs, go to the parts store and get a length of similar diameter vacuum hose and replace it.

Thanks very much for the reply. It's not something to stress about driving to the store with it like that?

Thanks a ton, Mateo. Greatly appreciated! Any idea what the hose is actually called just for peace of mind? If not, no worries

Can you just pull the broke piece off and reattach the hose?

No, it doesn't seem so. It appears as if the hose was just one piece along with what it was connected to and I ripped the hose out. It doesn't seem like I'll be able to reattach it even if I get a new hose. Would electrical tape be appropriate?

From what it looks like you should be able to pull off the smaller portion and slide the other end back on like @mynewtoy said, twist while you pull the little piece and you should be able to get it off leaving a metal stem that you can put the hose back over.

FIXED! (For now..) @mynewtoy was right and I win jackass of the year. The hose is tight now but it seems like it should hold and stay on. Thank you all for the assistance. Panic is over haha. I really appreciate the help, fellas.
