I'm sure this has been posted a million times but I'm in the market for a dash cam. Someone did a hit and run on my vehicle today and I want to prevent this.

I'm looking for a camera that is motion activated, not hard wired in, good video quality and capable of recording for 8-10 hours (motion activated time).

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

G1W-C. You can find it on Amazon for about $50. I installed a 12v-5v Mini USB adapter in the overhead console and tapped into the 12v supply to the rear view mirror. Camera is capacitor powered and comes on with ignition on and shuts down with ignition off. It has enough reserve power to run for about 10 seconds after the accident and save the footage.
