    That assumption would be correct. You are fine. Drive your car and don't worry about it. That style fuel line is referred to as quick disconnect. Now a popular standard amongst most auto manufacturers namely GM and Toyota. Ford uses it also. It is constructed in such a way to prevent leaks by using a barb on the line that the other hose clips into.

    I don't think that line is properly assembled. It should be like the one on the left which is fully seated together.
