As far as trucks, I personally mainly like Toyota and Ford.

SUV's, Toyota wins again but with Jeep close behind.

I have to say though, I test drove a 2010 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 Trail, and that was probably my favorite vehicle that I've drove to date. Dream car.

I have my likes & dislikes of each vehicle brand. Depending on what I'm shopping for...will depend on what I will buy.

I've owned Plymouth, several Toyotas, Dodge, several Jeeps, Acura, Subaru, Chevy....

For small sized trucks - I'll always buy a Toyota under the assumption their quality and reliability stays where it is and doesn't get worse.

I haven't thought about what I'd buy for cars or SUV's.....because there's nothing that really strikes my fancy (laugh). I've always thought the Subaru Baja was cool - but that's just another car. The Dodge Magnums are cool - but I'd never buy one. I shoot for reliability mostly..... It depends. Price & warrantee also play a part. Looks, how long do I plan on keeping it, what am I buying it for, etc.

Tell me about your Duster. My brother drives a '73, slant 6. Used to have a three on the tree, but we swapped out to a 4 on the floor.

I will always drive a toyota truck. My wife drives Dodge. Right now she is driving a Charger.

Whatever offers me the best quality vehicle for the money, that's what I go with. When I was looking for a truck, that just happened to be Toyota.

The only makes I would not consider buying are Yugo, Fiat, etc. basically anything with a spotty record or notorious for breakdowns or hard to find parts. My family, we have driven Chevys, Fords, Dodges, Toyotas, Hyundais, Mazdas... half of the reliability issue depends on how well the vehicle is maintained and how hard it is driven. My first car was a 1972 AMC Gremlin 4.2L, I put 100k miles on it and not one bit of trouble. Wish I'd never sold it except it had zero safety features (front drum brakes!) and did not have enough leg room for me. Oh and it was so ugly it was almost cute. But I really love my Tacoma.

I will keep my Tacoma until the wheels fall off. It might even be my kids first truck someday. But once I get married and have been settled down a few years I will probably get a f-250 diesel. It would fit my needs better. For now, I'm happy with my Tacoma and would recommend one to anybody I know.

I also like the new F150's. Nice comfy smooth ride.
