Whoa!! Dude, that thread is awesome. Can't believe I missed it. Thanks for linking it here. That's a lot of work, but worth it to get a great price.

    Too few to list.
That seems like a lot of work but it did work. In my case, I research to find the invoice on a particular model. The key here is knowing MSRP and Invoice. I then e-mail dealers (with new e-mail address) and ask for their best price. When they reply, I offer them $500 under their invoice. They will counter with their best price.

Anyways with that said, I already stated that Capitol Toyota in San Jose will do $1K under their invoice.

    Here's an example.
    2017 SR 4x4 Auto = $28,563 MSRP
    Invoice is $27,327
    Selling price $26,327

That's over $2K off the MSRP

Can you beat this deal or is it worth the 1 way ticket to San Jose?

That's a good place to start. Will they give me the same quote? Did you make these numbers up or is that an actual price?

If neither of those had the tech package, they are way too much IMO. I would just get a new one, and get exactly what you want. Since it is so late in the model year, and Toyota does not offer any incentives on the Tacoma, I would wait and get an 18. The 18s will all have TSS.

How do I know it's actual invoice? Dealerships will respond and tell you that offer is too low or try to sell at or a few $ over invoice.

Looks like the MSRP for what you're looking for is around $37 to $37,5xx for a DC 2wd with the JBL tech pack. Seems like they are all JBL in SoCal and not just the regular tech pack. For 4x4, add another $2K+ on the MSRP.

Cheapest tech pack in SoCal has an MSRP of $37,343 and includes all weather mats and door sill protectors.

Without doing the research, my guess is that invoice is around $34-34.5K

I have a Sport DC, 4x2, Tech and JBL, and a couple other little things. MSRP was $36,600.00 and I paid invoice of $34,000.00

The truck in this link, which is what I think you are looking for, can probably be had for just a little over $34,000.00.
