Truck is just over 10 years old. The TPMS light came on in June. My guess is the batteries finally crapped out.

Anyone have the batteries on their TPMS modules go dead? How long did they last? I figure some of the early 2nd gens should have run into this by now.

although we own a 3rd gen, I work for NAPA Auto Parts and have sold TPMS sensors for over 10 years. TPMS sensor batteries have a life expectancy of 7-10 years (more dependent upon mileage). The battery inside the TPMS sensor is a lithium-ion button cell battery (same as in watches and your keyfob).

Are they servicable? Can you replace the battery without destroying the sensor?

NO, the TPMS batteries were not designed to be replaced ... although you can find some YouTube videos stating otherwise. Just replace the entire TPMS sensor and you should be good for another 7-10 years out of the next set.
