Didn't you do the same thing when you first bought the Colorado? :notsure::boink::bananadead:

ive got one now. Besides rattles behind dash area been good truck. Have had it since end of Feb 16. z71 4x4 crew. Ive averaged 27.4 total since new. Ive got 45k miles on it now. Also got back window drivers side needs adjusting because it shakes going up and down but im out of warranty so just wont use it now. I trade every 2 years and will be trading for a 18 trd off road or trd pro. I like the interior much better in Tacoma and to me seems lot better built interior. I also prefer looks of Tacoma exterior. Nothing wrong with it and zr2 diesel was my other choice and I am leaning to Tacoma because just not happy with interior and rattles and now window issue and such. Engine is great just needs little more off line grunt but id love to have it in the 18 Tacoma over the 3.5.

I don't like how the Colorado looks, but I do like how the Canyon looks.

I'd say the Colorado should have been modeled after the Silverado, but I like the Sierra better too. The split headlight thing doesn't appeal to me.

I don't mind the looks that bad. Between Canyon and Colorado its a draw. One thing really that stands out is all the rattles from after 36k really started showing in dash. Plus now the back drivers door window I think is starting to fall out of track or something. Ive had a wiring rubbing issue but it cost me 200 dollars because past 36k and had one issue with sensor on emissions under warranty. Plus my drive train is starting to make noise now and back springs are clunking. Probably not all real expensive to fix but man 17 months and 45k and it seems it is just starting to have little things show up daily. I started driving my 04 gx 460 that has 98k on it to keep miles off it for now and to keep my trade high as possible. Gx is our 3rd vehicle and never use it since wife replaced with her new suv she got in dec of 2014. Man the gx has no rattles and besides dash cracked which they are know for with age it is great vehicle. lot better built!

Best to test drive one for yourself. For me, the deal breaker is the lack of an exhaust brake. Since the diesel doesn't use a throttle body the way gasoline engines do, there is basically no engine braking when going downhill.
So basically typical Delphi electrical issues and general reliability problems that come with GM... Give it a couple more years and you would have probably had to replace the fuse box (or FIPM as they like to call it).

I hear what you're saying, but for some of us range is kinda important. I travel in places where the nearest gas can be a looooong ways away. If I have my hunting dogs in the back- it's a no-no to carry fuel back there..

I test drove the Colorado with the Duramax before I bought my Tacoma.

It definitely has torque, but passing another car on a back road going around 50 or 60 might be impossible. It was just slow.

The seats have this weird hard plastic that goes all the way to the top of the seat and the fabric or leather drops down from it. Just felt cheap. The fabric felt cheap too. I was worried the clip from a pocket knife might rip it when you sat down.

Up front it was going to be cheaper. They had some crazy negotiating room on it, but I was worried about the resale value if I didn't like it.

Off road at slow speeds I bet the torque would be awesome. I wasn't looking for an offroad truck though. I have a jeep. I also have an old F350 for towing.

Depends what you want out of the truck.

It was GX470 (with the iron-block 4.7L V8) until 2010, right? But yeah, still a reliable vehicle alongside the 4Runner, FJ and Taco all the same platform.

I haven't heard anything spectacular about it, but I do love the thought of having so much torque down low.

I traded my 16 Off Road for a 16 Canyon Duramax a month ago. Both are great trucks. I traded because no matter how much I tried, I couldn't get used to the high RPM powerband and frequent shifting in the Tacoma. Just personal preference, but the canyon diesel just suits my laid back driving style much better. I don't tow anything really. Didn't need it. Just wanted it.

Yeah, but you expect that because it's a Chevy. Doesn't really cause a fuss. Everyone assumes the Tacoma is going to be reliable (and mine has been so far).

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    So do the Tacomas. :notsure:

At least you can let the engine idle though. That's a WTF right there.
