Anybody knows where I can find a solid spacer for the 8.75 diff? ECGS has the one for the front 8 inch clamshell but not for the rear

i was just wondering yesterday what exactly this front solid spacers application is, as in would it be useful for ppl with stock diff just to beef it up or only used after a re-gearing?

don't mean to go off topic but it's kinda pertains to it.

I guess it depends on the terrain in your area
I'm in Northen California and the trails around here all have lots of rocks.
Unfortunately I found out today that they are not available for the 8.75's diffs yet

i wonder why, u think it's because the front is ifs?

i guess i was just curious as to how they make the diff more reliable against rough and rockier terrain.

edit: just watched a video, now i understand

According to ECGS is because the rear 8.75 diff has only been around for a year

Ok. What does the spacer solve? The rear axle is a solid axle. I tried to search ECGS and found nothing like what you are describing. Perhaps I missed something. Can you post a link to the actual part so I can research it. Thanks!

that's right. there are a number of parts that will show eventually but not available yet... the world needs more of these 8.75's for the market to develop. Eaton, for example, will sell tons of a/m diff bits including Posi and locker components, but they need to profit off that R&D... someone suggested to me about 3 years for market development before these things start to show.... but i can't speak for the spacer specifically.

Perhaps "solid spacer" was not descriptive enough. I am assuming you all are referring to a solid "pinion preload spacer". These usually replace crush washers for higher forward and reverse torque capacity. I used them for drag racing. I didn't know our truck's needed them. Someone ought to see if the crush washer is not maintaining correct pinion preload. Cheers.
