Sooooooooo updates... So since the Mrs and I are now expecting it has kind of started some conundrums. I have her on board that I need to keep the truck, or if we do end up getting something I still will buy a truck, just one we both can drive. But she brought up the good point of the farther along she is the harder it will be to get in and out of the Tacoma... So now looking at possibly going back to stock setup which is ok, minus the fact I no longer have stock tires. But I was planning to buy new snows so sort of works out until the spring. Basically November is gonna suck since I will have to swap all the suspension back over (and pick up new rear shocks since I kind of fucked those on removal). And now may have the debate in the spring of putting all the lift parts back in... But we shall see.. IN the mean time off to the dealer tomorrow to get the TSB clutch replacement again since the first fix only lasted a year

lol I might weld on an additional step or make a bolt on one to drop down for the sliders

I know I want snow tires so I might drop the size down a bit to... should help over the 33s

I think Eddy (SOS) used to make a bolt on step. Not that it would work for you, but you may be able to see what he did.

Well that sucks to hear but I guess you need to do what works and is best for your family.

btw- what's the clutch issue about?

well might be able to sneak by with just modifying the steps.

So theres a TSB out for it, but the 2005-2015 Tacomas have issues with the clutch squeaking, or in my case "croaking" when you depress and let go on the clutch. Usually when its warmer out and for me under load, so like going into reverse, or first gear. Has to do with plastic rubbing on something. They replaced mine last year and it went away till April when it started to do it randomly. Now its back to doing it all the time so it drives me crazy with the noise and it kind of hangs up so don't really get a smooth shift out of it

Ahh yes...I have dealt with this. They lubed something first time and it helped for a while but it's been back intermittently lately.

I really hope they don't pull "its out of its 36k warranty" since they did it a year ago. I tried to lube it and it helped for a week and came back, but I like the manual so its a struggle

Sitting here at the dealer. I brought up that it's kind of hard to get the truck into reverse and now it seems like there might be a bit more of an issue :angrygirl::annoyed::bananadead::boom::frusty: fml

Annnnnnnd verdict is.......... I get a new transmission at 45,000 miles :violent:
O yeah and a new clutch pedal since that still squeaks lol

So the truck has always had issues going into reverse, never thought about it since my buddies 6speed was little hassle getting into it. So it went away figured the truck just had to break in. And then came back with vengeance when the clutch pedal started making noises again. Basically took two hands to get it into reverse. So tech came in and was like "any body lift or aftermarket shift mechanisms (which I don't)" And then said well reverse gear was never setup correctly and is grinding into everything.. So end result is all new transmission and shit covered under warranty (which has now overly paid for itself haha). So go in next week to get it all done

Yeaaaaa its a little odd. I think the truck was at the end of the 2015 run so some crap parts must have slipped in or something. My thought is the tolerances are a little to tight and that's why shit is getting jammed up. But either way the dealer is doing an awesome job taking care of me. This is the 2nd Tacoma I've bought from them and I always go to them for everything minus oil changes. So they've gotten a lot of warranty work out of me.

I'm hoping they give me a Tacoma for a loaner though

yeah I was almost in tears actually when the service lady told me (who is actually extremely nice, kind of cute, and if she tried to sell me special undercoating and what not I would probably buy it lol)

So they are going to be good about it, they're ordering all the parts today in the hopes it will show up Monday or Tuesday and they'll give me a loaner once I drop the truck off.

So Taco is dropped off at the dealer. New transmission showed up this morning, so they gave me a Corolla which is kind of nice but really wanted a truck. Hopefully its all done by Wednesday.
