That seems crazy low. I've been getting around 21, 60% highway and 40% city driving.

Are you less than 5000 miles on the truck? Right after you hit 5,000 miles you will get a 2mpg boost and then after 10,000 you will get another 1mpg boost. At least that is the case with my 2016 offroad with stock driveline. This is for short distance combined driving on relatively level grades. I now use the SSP and it has improved my mileage further especially long distance speeds under 65 mph.

I'll never understand complaints about shit power from a 3.5L V6 N/A motor towing shit.

And any trailer built with two axles weighs a lot because it is built to haul heavy shit.

Mine idles at 1K RPMs. Are you saying after replacing the sensor, your RPMs dropped to 550? I'm getting shit gas mileage too. Not on the recall list and dealer says my software is current. I'm at 3,500 ft and he originally said there might be a tune for elevation, but then said there wasn't when I brought the truck in. Anyways, most of my trips are short (1-3 miles) with speed limits under 35. My mileage was sitting at 13.6 MPG running ETC and with it off. I did a hard reset, cleaned my MAF and tightened the hose clamps for the intake. Mileage increased to 15.1, but that's it. I don't have a lead foot in the truck either...The only things I added are 265/70/17 KO2s (C rated) and Fuel wheels that add about 12 lbs or so per wheel. Don't know what else to do but replace the sensor. Can someone shoot me a link of where to get it and/or offer something else to try? BTW, just rolled 5,000 miles.

Short commutes will kill your mpg I lose 2 mpg on short commutes to work under 3 miles if I do 10 -20 mile run I'm consistently getting in the 18's

OP, my mileage improved after 10k miles. I hope yours improves- sounds like you might have some mechanical problem?

Photo of this mornings commute fwiw. I have gotten 24+ some mornings, if I am running late, more like 16mpgs.
Easier driving when I am on the road at 5am- less traffic. My commute is local roads, I tend to stay off the toll roads, so my commute includes many traffic lights, some hills, etc.
I have used ECT only a few times, but find it unnecessary.

My 2nd truck was an S10, 4cyl 5speed MT, 25-30 mpgs all day every day, and I am really happy with this truck also.

I have to ask this stupid question... but are you driving in 4x4 all the time?

There is definitely something dragging your engine.
Since you have a 4x4, have you tried greasing the zerks on the u-joints?

Not sure who you're asking, but I'm not driving in 4x4 at all. Haven't tried grease idea, but you'd like to think that the truck has grease only having it for 4 months and 5K miles.

So its been mentioned at various time in this thread but things people have posted that caused bad milage have been:

    1) bad cps
    2) stuck in 4x4 (but no light)
    3) dirty MAF

OP maybe try cleaning your maf and clearing your ecu by pulling the battery cables. Then cycle your 4x4 a few times to make sure its disengaged.

Also check your air filter and put some additive in your next tank of gas and see if that helps.

Bad gas could also cause some of your problems. Is your truck pinging like crazy?

    Good luck!

I am driving on 33s (cooper st maxx 255s) with a 2.5" lift, 300+lbs in the bed and still can get over 20 mpg on my highway commutes home at about 65mph if I granny the throttle and am smart about my downshifts. This is in the PNW, which is not a flat area at all. I frequently saw 22-24 mpg before the lift & tires.

I get about 18 mpg and I step on it. 75-80 mph on the highway and I push it driving in the city. 14 mpg, even with a lift, is most certainly not normal. Other people have already suggested possible causes for the issue. And ignore Smitty, the 3rd gen stole his lady or something. It's the only explanation.

Lol, I just towed my 20 ft enclosed car trailer that goes 5500 loaded home from an event Sunday night. I got 11 mpg.....Drained a whole tank of fuel in about 185 miles. I avgd about 55-60mph.

The truck handles it fine. Its not completely ideal but it's better than having to live with a full size truck. I have weight bars, brakes, and anti sway.

I don't think so but that's a subjective question. Others may not have liked it. We aren't very hilly but there is one pass that has a couple spots that have decent climbs. I find it very comfortable in flat and mild incline or decline. I run it in 4th gear and keep the revs just under 3k for the most part. If I see a climb coming up I try to get a run on and get the speed up to 65 or so. Once I drop below 2500 rpm I drop to third and usually bottom out at 52-53mph before I start to accelerate again.
