Let's revive an old thread!! But with a different build haha. As much of you know I sold "Stumpy" in the fall. Bought a Subaru for a month, then found a bone stock '99 TRD which has soon turned into this IMG_0893.jpgIMG_0895.jpg

Since I bought it in late fall I've bobbed it. 13" to be exact. Put 5100's on all 4 corners. Front is set at 1/4" haha. Put the new Falken MT01's on in a 33x12.50x15 flavour (unreal tire btw) and pretty well wheeled the shit outa this thing. My goal for this build was a budget build. I've done everything for less than $1500. I'm in the works of building sliders with 3/4" UHMW and 3/16" skids. After that all that's left is a front bumper. Which I already have a winch. So for under $2100 I'll have built a smaller more "streetable" version of Stumpy.

This build is being dubbed "Stubby"

Awesome! Glad to see you have a truck again. I love the idea of bobbing the bed but rely on my bed way too much to be able to do it.

Did some urban wheeling yesterday after work. I had to ditch the 5100's in the rear.

Because everything is completely stock, they only had about an inch of up travel with no bump stops. It was a horrible stressful ride always worrying about blowing the shock apart. I went back to the 0-1" Fox IFP's. Exact same shock I had in Stumpy. By far the best bang for your buck when it comes to a factory "performance" shock.

I love the look of a bobbed truck! Nice truck OP. Here's an old '89 I owned that I cut 16.5" out of in high school haha!

How are the 5100's all around? Where did you find the foxes? Also stoked to see you have a truck again!

Looks like you've got a few kilometers on the MT01's now. How are you liking them on your truck? You DD it, right?
