Hey I have a 2005 Tacoma with FXR Retrofits the other night i went to drive and both headlights won't turn on, the inside dash lights turn on as well as the side markers and my turn signals work, I also have halos that are on a separate switch that work as well, Im pretty sure i checked all the fuses and they all looked good, I also checked all the wiring and it all looks good any ideas on what it could be?

If you turn the headlights on and cycle highbeams do you hear the relay click? Is the connection at the battery still good?

Check the fuse on the line that goes to the battery for me just ONE MORE TIME. Pull it out of the bracket and confirm that it's good. We shall go from there. Also, triple check that you are plugged into the stock plug correctly.

Both my HID's stopped working last night. I don't hear a click either when flipping high beams on. And no buzz from my ballasts. Is there a main fuse for headlights in the fuse box?

Scratch that...I do hear a 'click'. But no light.

Do you have a standalone relay that powers the lights? If so you likely have an inline fuse that goes directly to the battery. Otherwise check the fuse box the is right behind the battery. It has a couple tricky tabs to get off, but just look at the underside of the lid for the proper fuse to check.

In short... YES there is a fuse underhood to check.

If you have a relay (which you really should), and you don't hear a click and the fuse is good, then the relay is probably the issue. Mechanical relays will click when they are energized. I'm not sure what kind of relay you used, but get a Bosch/Tyco relay. Those are heavy duty automotive relays. I've never had one fail on me.

Same issue here OP and same steps to check as you did, difference here is I do hear a click when going from high to lo beam. I can't imagine that both bulbs died at the same time. Did you get resolved? If so, please share what you found out.

Have you checked your inline fuse that runs to the battery?

Yes sir, inline fuse looks fine. Tonight was the first night I turned the head lights on since getting it back from the dealer for new S/C belt, coolant and tensioners. I'm wondering since the had the fan shroud off and were poking around in there, they might have accidentally disconnected something.

My driving lights and side lights are working so I'm thinking the ballasts and Morimoto Motocontrol H4 harness are OK, or maybe part of the harness that controls the headlights is malfunctioning. I checked one of the 4 10A fuses under the hood and it was OK. I'm calling TRS tomorrow for support but going to check in the daylight tomorrow to see if there are any disconnects.

Edit: Also found in my research about the igniters - but with one behind each bulb, I can't imagine both going at once.

Yeah I would go through the lineup from your power being attached to the battery (or appropriate location), the grounds for both of your ballasts still being connected, your headlight plug being installed from the stock plug to the harness correctly, and all connections down the line.

My problem was the ballast one was bad and they are all connected so I got new ones and no problems since

Ok, I'm a yahoo.....I missed the main 25A fuse. It was burnt out so I replaced. I'm back to lighting up half the free world with my projectors again. Thanks again to @Taylorm1, @Revelations and @memario1214
