    Hi All!

Still new to the forum so not sure a thread like this is out there but I couldn't find info on the 3rd Gen 4 banger's shift points and cruising RPM. I was wondering... on a flat road what is an ideal RPM range (best mileage and care for the engine) and when do y'all shift?

On flat roads I'm usually running the truck at 2000 rpms and shift gears around 2500~3000. First week with the new taco and just want to make sure I'm using it well.

    Thanks! :)

I guess it would depend if you are looking for high mpg or better performance. If I'm looking for mpg, I shift around 2k. For performance, anywhere before the rev limiter. When I'm towing, 2500-3000 rpms seems to be a decent range to run.

I don't care about mpgs so much. I stay at 3 generally, shift at 4.

I care about mpg and shift at 2000. Keep it in 5th at 60 a lower for best mpg.
