    Okay, so I realize this is most likely an impossibly broad question that destroys the old adage about "no stupid questions...," but here goes;

    After wheeling the other day, with no super-hard bumps but using my skids and sliders over some challenging obstacles, I developed a new vibration. It is engine-speed dependent in a relatively narrow range at around the 3,000 RPM mark, regardless of gear or MPH. It seems to be coming from the front. I cannot find any obvious damage or looseness to the skids. I need a friend to help so that one of us can throttle for the correct engine speed while the other noses around.

    So my question (finally) is this;

    Any good ideas of where to start looking?

    Thanks for your ideas.

    maybe start by looking around your front sway bar and link mount points.

    Probably not very helpful, but your thread title demanded it.

    I'd check to see if something was bent slightly into your exhaust or engine.

    Just for shits and giggles. Put in 4 hi. Drive at the speed u say u feel the vibration. Does it go away? If so the needle bearing. Do u have any type of lift?

    Not certain as I sit here reading this. Doesn't seem like it's coming through the pedals or floor boards.

    Certainly a possibility. Kind of what I was worrying about.

    Are the vibrations terrain (bump/potholes etc) dependent? Are your sliders bolt on or weld on? Do you have cab clearance (pinch weld) to the legs of the sliders? If the tolerance was very tight to begin with, you may have pushed up the slider a tiny bit from wheeling and it's hitting the cab pinch welds. Weird but it's happened to me before (but with using a hi-lift).

    Negative. Engine speed only, standing still or at any road speed.
