Alright everyone I'm putting a firm date on the red cone>radical hill>swan river>SOB run. It's gonna happen Sunday, August 20th. I would like to limit this run to no more than 5 trucks so we can move quickly since this will make for a long day on the trails. If possible I'd like to get at least one person signed up who has run some or all of these trails before to act as a guide, but if it turns into the blind leading the blind so be it. If you're interested copy/paste this post and add your name to the list. These are not beginner rated trails, so do your research before signing up please.

I would go, but with the baby and long day the two don't go together.

It very well might not be possible to do all in one day. Correct me if I am wrong (I've never run any of these trails before), but it looks like there are easy "outs" back to civilization pretty much between all of the 4 trails listed in this run, so the group could potentially end the day whenever was appropriate.

I'm not signing my name just yet as I need to get my tie rod ends and alignment done this week, but as long as that gets done I will join for at least the red cone part of this which I ran last year.

Ummm maybe? I'm waiting to get more info on a run that same weekend. If it falls through I'd be up to going on the bike or truck. I need to get the bike back out

Asher you thinking of gong with the bike?

We've done it in a day. The trip report is here .
A long full day to be sure, but a day.

And you're right about the "outs"

So I just got the new truck this week. Is still going to be a few weeks before my sliders come in, but I'm itching to put a little mud on the tires. So what is a good beginner level trail to do in a stock TRD Off-road? I want to run something Saturday, and I'll be leaving from Colorado Springs. My "wheeling" experience thus far has been the entirety of Rampart Range Road, Mt. Herman Rd, part of Balanced Rock Road, and a couple of side trails and off shoots form the previously mentioned roads. Any suggestions on where to go from there. I know that Mt. Baldy isn't far from here, so I thought of doing that one, but I'm open to suggestions.

+1 to yankee hill. did it the weekend after I bought my truck, bone stock.

edit: and switzerland trail too, did that a couple months ago with some friends to camp, 2 subaru wrxs were in our group and they got through the "hardest" little offshoot with some spotting no problem. (they have neither travel nor tires)

@mountainmonkey Yes, The Deer Creek, St John's/Fork trails all lead to towns or a connector to town.

I have only ever driven Middle/South/North Forks, Glacier Ridge out and back, done some exploring over the years but never had a vehicle with a small turning radius like a jeep or single cab. well.. other than my first yota, the ol' 86 single NO BED! hehe
