I got an HRV fully loaded. I guess it will do for now. We will see if it is large enough. Nice car though and it will save me some gas for the next few months.

CRV days are over. I got the call after 32 days.

    I did ask questions....
    • Servco Windward got 12 kits on Monday so they were able to fix 12 over the course of this past week. Not sure how many kits the other Servco's got
    • Windward Servco got about 50 and they are running out of room for them.
    • Enterprise fleet is depleted all over the island.
    • Trucks are serviced in the order they are received. Kits are ordered when the truck is in their possession.
    • If you take your truck to Mapunapuna you may not be able to get a loaner because the Enterprise they use has no cars...BUT, if you take it to Windward--the Kaneohe Enterprise does have cars although no trucks or large SUV's.
    • They are not "telling" customers to go to other Servco locations but my SA said that some Tacoma owners from outside the windward side have come to Windward because there isnt a line of 100 trucks waiting like Mapunapuna. He was basing it off of zip codes.
    • No courtesy wash. My truck is still dirty inside and out
    • I can tell my truck was out in the sun for an extended period of time. I complimentary newspaper that I was given when I dropped off my truck (dated 7/10) was still on my passenger seat and it's all yellow and faded.
Im kinda shocked I got it this soon. Ill edit this post when I can think of other things that were told to me.

That's awesome for you! Only 1 month. That's good to hear. My original appointment was June 27th. I wish I had just brought it in then, then I may have had a better chance of getting my truck back sooner. Oh well. The Waipahu Enterprise is tight on cars, but they have them...I saw a couple CRVs, Forester, and a bunch of cars from compact to full on the lot yesterday.

i should have added that when I was at Enterprise waiting for my ride back the manager said that some of the toyota customers have been pretty ruthless. Kaneohe enterprise has about 50 cars out for the Toyota issues which is around what is on the lot. Of course many of these recall customers want trucks and there are hardly any available in the Enterprise fleet island wide.

my SA also mentioned that some customers have been pretty nuts, combative (exact words). basically explained the kits are just taking a lot of time to come in. They expect them to come in spurts. No excuses made as to why the kits are taking so long to be shipped out.

The job looks clean. No excess sealant. All new bolts. Area has been wiped down.

I also get the impression that all the Servco's are servicing the RD according to the recall notice. (vs the main 3rd gen post where customer experiences are all over the place) A small weep means leak. Small weep means they are holding your truck (for trucks officially on the recall). Not sure if they are allowing customers to sign a waiver. I think once a leak/weep/seep is determined--they are holding it.

The staff at the Enterprise in Waipahu are awesome. They said that technically, Servco is only paying for the basic rental car (that is what's on my contract) but they know we are bringing in trucks for service and basically accomidating us with whatever they can. It's not their fault, or Servco fault the trucks have to be confiscated. I am just happy I have something to drive while my truck is out of service for 3 months and I would rather they fix it correctly then just do a kapulu job and send it out the door. My SA told me that they normally send recall repair parts in kits, but because of all the trucks that are OOS, Toyota has been sending the parts in pieces, nuts, bolts, gaskets, seals, etc. all at different times. So they may have the bolts to do the repair, but not the nuts...at least that's how he explained it to me.

It's funny, I don't want them to wash my truck when I get it back. Bad experiences of getting scratches on past vehicles. Most of the time, I get the car back dirtier then when I dropped it off, even on the 1 day visits. The truck was immaculate inside and out when I dropped it off. I gave it a nice wax a week before since I knew it would be in the sun and not have any attention while it sat on their lot. I am going to give it a nice wash and polish whenever I get it back.

Just got mine back from Mapunapuna today. Dropped it off on July 8. They told me it was going to be at least two more months about a month ago so the parts came in quicker than they expected.

just from my experience....when you do get it back take a flash light with you and give it a look see prior to leaving. I was pleased as everything looked clean and wiped down. The bolts were new, the job looked complete.

Upon getting home first thing I wanted to do was to give it a wash and wax and i noticed in different areas this white residue which looked like bird $hit but it wasnt washing off with water like bird $hit would. it was definitely something that was splattered onto my hood and roof while my car was incarcerated. I was so focused underneath that when i took receipt of my truck i didnt really bother to look at the exterior. It took a clay bar and some patience to get it all off.

Thanks Man. I will do that. I am pretty anal about my vehicles so I will inspect every inch of my truck for anything that wasnt there when I dropped it off and make sure to notate it, just in case, something got on the paint and doesnt come out....Hopefully no damage though. That would REALLY suck!

So your wait was just little over a month also....That is good news to hear. Hopefully they are giving long estimates so they dont have to deal with customers calling every other day if they just say it would take a month.

Sounds like Waipahu got some parts in quicker then they thought so people are starting to get their trucks back. Anyone else with good news about their trucks?

You have yours at Mapunapuna? I heard its nuts over there. Like 150-200 trucks, something like that. Dont know if that is correct or not. Waipahu had 100 when i brought my truck in. And on top of that, you got a double wammie! 2 recalls...

I think Windward has the least amount of trucks, so may have better chance to get it back quicker over there. Waipahu 2nd, and Mapunapuna 3rd...

At least you got a truck for a rental. I got a compact SUV. Which is okay for now.
