2015 TRD DCSB, 2400 miles. And that is the problem, I just don't drive it. I haven't even taken it out of the garage this year yet. If the weather is nice I take the convertable, if I have to travel I take the car which gets 35 MPG and is much nicer to travel in. Since it's AWD it works fine in the snow and I have the company vehicle at home anyways so I take that to work and back.

Now, I bought the 2015 because I though it was a better engine then the replacement and more suited for a truck and my old truck was on it's last legs. I got a decent price on the 2015 but since it's new, I don't take it out and drive it like the old one and beat it up and as I've aged, [yeah, it'll happen to you too] I just don't do the 4 wheeling I used to do up north.

So, it's come time for me to decide, keep it or sell it and buy an old truck for the few times I NEED a truck or keep it for the next 15 years or so and consider it my ''retirement truck'' like so many guys I know buy just before they retire. [5-7 years]

I like it but it's ''meh'' driving it, and Toyota's sound system is all kinds of lousy unless you spring for the JBL. I am amazed at how bad they are compared to pretty much any automaker in the world for sound quality, clarity and loudness. And even though I'm getting old, I do like to crank it up occasionally.

I doubt I'd lose much on it so that part of it's not an issue, what I don't like is the added complexity that will be the norm if I sell it and buy in 5-7 years.I have considered selling it and importing an old Land Cruiser Pickup and using that. I am very familiar with the old FJ series as I've had 5 over the years.

I will say I really like the size of it as compared to the full size pick ups, I just don't really want one and I really liked the size of my 84 Toyota pick up but you couldn't keep that thing from rusting no matter what you did, I painted the bed 4 times in 4 years and it would start rusting in just a few months. [the seams on the side of the bed were horrid for that] Other then that, it was a great truck and the size worked well for me.

So talk me into or out of selling it.

you don't use it so you should sell. It's one more oil change every six months and stuff will go wrong if it just sits

Yes, usually all I need, I haul more stuff in that then the Taco. Easy as heck to maintain, lot's of room in the back. No power to speak of but my road racing days are well behind me, I've had my Z Turbos, 280s, etc.

It's a good truck but compared to my FJ's of the past, it's kind of a weak ride. I don't mind ''trucky'' and I don't mind fancy but it seems to me a miss on both sides. I'm done with building up rides, done it for 35 some years, multiple FJ40s, Broncos, [late 70s ones] even did a Durango just ''because.'' I'm just done with the additional maintenance when you do it and you will too some day. The ground gets harder and colder as you age and crawling is for when you are under fire.

I still do 99% of all the work myself I just don't enjoy it as much as in the past.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Get rid of it if you don't need it

Its funny I am always looking for excuses to ditch my lexus convertible and my new Indian motorcycle to drive my Tacoma. I love driving it. I do think of getting rid of it but only for a third gen. I'm fighting that urge for now.

It doesn't feel ''flabby'' to you? Maybe it's just the softer OR setup over the sport that makes it feel like it wallows down the road to me.

I always thought the Tacoma felt sporty compared to other trucks. Sounds like you don't really need a truck though, and someone would snap it up with such low mileage

I'm looking at what will be out there when I retire and when I'll likely use it far more because of free time. I don't think I'll be interested in used at that point, especially if it's some 150K mile TT setup simply due to maintenance and replacement costs on some of the parts. [think ford].

I will admit I am a lever pulling type of guy, hell I'd be happy if Toyota had stuck with a SFA and lockouts.

Why in the world are we talking a member out of his Tacoma?? Seems odd to be on TW and telling someone to get rid of their Tacoma.

    Only me?? :der:

Sell it to someone that will use it. You obviously don't need it.

Compared to my 2004 Expedition that I had previously it feels sporty, and mine is a 5 lug with 31's.lol. So it wallows a bit but the Expy was huge and I wanted something a bit narrower.
