will a 3.73 third member bolt directly into the rear of my 2000 5 lug that has the 5 speed manual? I've heard that the 3.73 third will bolt up but will I need the pinion gear from the donor as well? Asking because my 3.58 with the lift and tires has lost some low end pull and have heard this is a cheaper remedy that will restore some low end torque and bring the speedo back closer to a true mph and will also help to bring back some gas mileage. Thanks!!!

Edit: the donor is an automatic first gen 5 lug.

You need a matching Ring & Pinion Bro. MPG isn't always going to get better. What tire size did you upsize to?

Just went to a 235/75/15 which is 29" but it still took a little power out of it. I pull a trailer from time to time with the truck and would just like to gain some low end back.

This may or may not be helpful. Still waiting to regear over here too.
