I don't have hard data and read a bunch of stuff including the myth buster piece before getting a cover.

I am pretty sure my gas mileage has improved at least 5% since getting a cover. Probably closer to 10% but at least 5%.

My typical mpg for my commute home previously was around 20 mpg and now my typical mpg for the commute home is around 22 to 23 mpg.

I am a pretty mindful driver and I do not ride the engine hard and look ahead to coast when I can.

Also my wife noticed an immediate smoother ride probably because it adds a little weight to the back.

Did your aluminum cleats slide easily into the bed rails? My aluminum cleats only slide 3-4 inches into the rails and then they're jammed up....yes, the set screws are backed out. The cleats closest to the tailgate are fine because they don't need to slide in that far, but the ones closer to the cab need to slide another 10-12in. Just checking to see if you happened to have the issue before I call Tyger on Monday. Thanks

Have the bakflip revolver for my tundra and no impact on MPG whatsoever...

I wish there was a cover that worked with bikes over the tailgate... I'm not talking flipping it up so u can't see out the rear window.

If you go through the math (lots of math) you will see you will improve a bit but it's tenths of a MPG, not 10 mpg. The additional weight added just about negates any gains due to aerodynamics. The good part?
    Dry (almost) lockable storage
Better ride due to the bit of additional weight added
    Looks good
Keeps the leaves out in fall and easier to clean the snow off in winter.

Tin phorr. Thanks. I've tried grinding the cleats back just a hair and still weren't working sliding on cleanly so I'll give them a call. Thanks again!

I've got a foldacover g4 elite, which I like. Mpg difference is negligible, maybe 1-2 better under ideal conditions. Definitely not enough to pay back the cost of the cover in any reasonable amount of time.

You will notice on a windy day the wind don't catch the insides of your bed and jerk the truck around with a tonneau cover on your bed.

Maybe you can have 0.5 mpg highway.

Underworld Flex trifold, tinted, TRDPRO grill, TRDPRO shift knob, etc,etc
To answer the OP's question, I have the undercover Flex trifold and did not experience any positive or negative mpg change. I did not really expect to as it does contribute to added weigh. Maybe the guys with vinyl have different results, but I doubt it.
As for recommending it, If you're looking for 100% leak proof, this is not the one for you. It's more around 90-95% at best.
It is very easy to use, practical, strong top can be easily removed for total bed use, lays nicely flat, but you do loose use of the oem rail hooks. No big deal, I have a oem bed mat.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!
