I actually kind of like the look of the "smoothies". Now you have me thinking about designing my own rim set... LOL

I have been looking at these rims myself. Black Rhino is showing these rims at 17x 9.5. Going to see if they can custom make 17x8. This way I have more tire options.

No, I ended up going with F5 Stealth Rims.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I am seriously considering getting a set of these for my quicksand 2017 Tacoma off road. I was curious how these have worked out, and can anyone answer the question posted above? I drive my Tacoma everyday, will these wheels be okay for me on OEM tires?

They would definitely be more prone to packing full of mud, I doubt cooling would be a major issue.

But with OEM tires? They'll look terrible IMHO.

Thanks for you suggestion and advice. I might get a more aggressive tire down the road.........but not right off. Even getting new wheels would not be something high on my priority list. There are other things I will get first. But I am attempting to black out my 2017 Quicksand, so the OEM off road wheels need to be replaced with either something blacked out.......or something close to the Quicksand color.

I would love to find someone that has used the Black Rhino Armory wheels with the OEM tires or something similar. I do want to keep my Tacoma as an everyday drive........and plan to take several cross country trips over the next few years.

I would also like to know this. Really like the look of these wheels but at 17x9.5, not sure how well that will work (on my soon to be purchased 3rd gen). Do places like this make custom sizes often? Wonder how much more money...

Did you end up going this route raccoonrough? Looking at possibly doing these for my 2017 Sport but like you would be keeping my OEM tires for a bit, all going to come down to a price I can get them for here in Guam.. would be doing the black version.. just trying to figure out the offset exactly.. I am wanting the face as close to the outside of the rim (away from the truck) and not closer in toward the engine but seems like I get conflicting answers on if I would be wanting a positive or negative offset

The only off the shelf size that will fit out Tacos is the
"BLACK RHINO ARMORY 17x9.5 6X139.7 ET-18" the -18 offset clears the UCA. When I was purchasing my set, I was told the only other offset (+6) would hit the UCA.
I would not run stock tires on these. They are pretty wide..and at 9.5" might be stretching your rubber.
I have heard they make custom sizes, but do not know for sure. I do know they drill the wheels for the requested PCD. (I had to tell them what mine was before they drilled them)
I've been in mud, sand, etc. No issues with packing up or cooling(that I can tell)

Still rocking them and love them!

So you have the -18 offset on yours? Thats more what I am looking for, seems all the stock photos have the hub tucked back into the rim, but yours is more what I am looking for just in the dark gunblack color they have

Actually, I have not done anything as of yet. However, I will prob not go with the Black Rhino because they donot sell one in the size I need, and its not as simple as just getting them and switching them out.

I have also considered another wheel made by US Wheel. http://www.jegs.com/i/US-Wheel/947/044-8860DS/10002/-1

I started a thread about it asking if anyone has any experience.....
