I'm feeling the same with the AC, not impressed but I thought it might be cause I rock the Max AC on medium since I got the truck 2 years ago since I'm in San Diego....

I ordered an IR thermometer from Amazon just so I could reply to this thread... This was the best reading I got, most were 32°-34°. My '05 AC has always been super cold.

Edit: I definitely concur a stick thermometer measuring air temp is the right way to measure. I just wanted the IR device :kona:

I read through all 3 pages and I didn't see this mentioned but I might have missed it. I deal with commercial HVAC systems every day, from 1ton to 100 ton and up. The air flow in my 09 had gotten pretty crappy over the last few years. Someone mentioned it all revolves around cfm's going through the coil and that's spot on. I was having to turn my air on HI to get flow that felt equal to med-lo speed. And it was darn cold, just not much of it (which it should have been with that little amount through the coil) And then the bulb went off. This thing has to have a filter somewhere in it. Well I've seen some stopped up filters over the years, but this took the cake. When I held it up to the sun, there was ZERO light coming through. The only air I was getting in the cab was coming around the filter. Surprised it hadn't burned the compressor up yet. So I would check that filter in the glove box first and check that off first.

I'm not well read enough on AC to answer that accurately honestly. But cookies is always the answer.

I dunno man , next hot humid day I want to use a digital thermometer in my vents to see what temps are coming out .

And my gas mpg hasn't been hit hard , if I run the ac a lot the most drop I see is about 1mpg . We've had a few heatwaves here and I ran it everyday when I was driving the most it dropped was about a 1/2 mpg I actually been monitoring mpg along with ac useagr on my Fuelly account .

Sorta, I took physics, chemistry, and biology in college and I understand a theoretical black body does not exist on earth. The sun is the closest to one near us.

Pointing your IR thermometer at the A/C vent won't give you an accurate temperature reading of the air coming out of it.
