Looking into getting some 17x8.5 fuel vectors and I don't really understand what option i should go with there's one with a backspace of 5 and an offset of 7. Then theres the other with a backspace of 4.5 and an offset of -6. I drive a 2017 trd sport 4x4 and plan on keeping the stock tires for now.

-6 will stick out a little further. Probably a bit past your flares maybe 3/4 of an inch.

It depends on the look/stance you're going for.

As 3coma pointed out, the front lip of the 17x8.5 with the -6mm offset (4.5-inch BS) will sit ~3/4-inch outside of the fender where the front lip of the 17x8.5 +7mm offset (5-inch BS) will sit flush with the fender.

Let us know if we can help you with a set. We can order the Vector in from the manufacture in just a few business days.

Either offset will work now with the stock tire size, but if you plan to lift your truck and go with larger tires it would be worth while to opt for the -6mm offset / 4.5" back spacing option. That will give you the clearance you need from the tire to the UCA/spindle.

This was super helpful guys. I've been looking into the Vector D601's and plan on throwing some bigger tires on there. Any suggestions on tire sizes?

6" lift, ya that'd be important lol. and this truck has had some very minor trimming already but no idea what size he had on before.

6" lift can easily clear 33" tires, you can fit up to 35" with some trimming (might be what the previous guy did) but your truck will be very sluggish without a re-gear and 35" tires. Plenty of people leave the stock gears and live with it, but it'll be slow :turtleride:

    Just checked Fuel's website, you'd want the 17" x 9" -12mm offset.

    You're welcome

If/when you want to order wheels shoot me a PM. I'd be happy to check if I can get you a better deal than what's out there.

Ps: there's also odd ball sizes out there. I run 295/75-17 which are a little bit taller and wider than your normal 285/70-17. There's also 285/75-17 which is nearly a 34" tire. So there are some other sizes you can go with to fill the wheel well better. The taller the tire, the further off the gearing will be and the slower your truck will be however.

Hey man I was wondering if -12 offset would also work with the stock tires while being able to upgrade in the future.

    Yep, they'll work.
The -12mm offset is a 17x9 wheel. Plan ahead, check the tires in the size you think you'll want to upgrade to and make sure they'll fit a 9" width.
These wheels will stick out from the fender about .75" which means a little extra trimming to the fender liner when you up size the tires.

Awesome, the current tires are 265/65r17 and plan on going either 275/70r17 or 285/70r17. Thank you for the help!

Picking up some pro comp 16 by 8 wheels Wednesday with 4 in backspacing and 0 offset. 4wheel parts has service records with these wheels clearing the UCAs. Got a ome heavy lift all around. Is 4in enough to not run uca? Getting 285s as well
