Pulled the trigger on a TRD OR

Leased it because it’s my first truck so I’m hoping I’ll love it

Tints are next, maybe wheels and tires

Wanted to do a mild lift but doing on a lease scares me

Don't let lifting a lease scare you. I'm lifting my 4Runner, which is leased, the dealer doesn't care if you do end up returning it that way, they just want another sale.

The only things I'd ever do to a lease are either

    A) 100% reversible. Like pulling off aftermarket wheels/tires and putting OE back on

    B) something you are willing to be 'throwing away' your money, like the window tint. Yes, I know it's useful while you have it, but you'll recover nothing as you might in a resale

    C) things of insignificance, like removing the tape pinstripes. However, I'd not debadge unless I saved the badges and replaced before return.

These things might not matter to some dealers, or they could be gig you points for others.

One thing folks here talk about a lot is buying your vehicle at the end of the lease, then either keeping it or selling yourself for a bit of profit. If you know now that's what you are going to do, the risks of modding, outside of potential warranty impacts, go away.

Depending on the deal you got on your lease, as well as your RV numbers, you can make a safe bet as to whether or not it is feasible to buy the truck midway/ at the end of your lease. What I'm finding is even with the ridiculous residual numbers they put on these trucks from leasing companies and toyota finance, the tacoma is actually doing BETTER than those numbers. To the point now where 36mo residuals are flirting with 80% plus. If you're lease is calculated on a 71% ish RV, you should be in good shape with a fair share of positive equity with any luck. I am 12 months into my lease, and am currently EVEN on Buyout price vs trade in- which is insane to me. I'll take the next year or so to decide if I want the truck for another 7 years while also edging into the positive.

Lift it, but keep your stock components.

    I agree 110 %

tints are cheap and need down in florida

My thinking on the lift is to go mild and keep all stock parts if i need to remove it in 3 years

I see you're in Clearwater, Im down in Sarasota

My residule value after 39 months on my 4Runner trail premium is at least 10k under current selling prices for a 3 year old 4Runner where I live. Maybe closer to 15k.

So you're gonna want to buy that puppy if there if that is true. Or sell it outright month 37 of that lease lol

Oh I'm defineately buying it. Whether I keep it or not is another story.

Toyota leasing appeals to me as I usually get cheaper payments than buying, get a large down payment on a new vehicle every 3 years, and don't have to deal with issues out of warranty. Works for me, maybe not everyone

Buy it out. And then sell it. Your vehicle value is higher than the buy out. Which will put you in the positive for a good down payment for your next Toyota.

I just put a mild lift on my Tacoma. 2.25 readylift with 2.00 block in back. 265/75R16 bfg ko2's. Love the look. Nothing major. And looks killer

By the way. I bought my lease out in five months. I came to the conclusion that I was gonna buy my truck at the end. So I saved myself the huge rent fee. My rent fee was 4200. They spread that fee amongst your 36 months
