I can honestly say that I don't enjoy working on my truck. I work on it in my backyard, next to my detached garage on the alley behind my house, and only have time to do shit late at night. Since it's within earshot of my neighbors bedrooms, I can't use the impact wrench and have to be ninja quiet.

That being said, I had to use a cheater bar to remove the lug nuts and lower coilover bolts last night. Should be 87 lbs and 61 lbs. Shops overtighten shit- even reputable ones. Also had to use a bolt and 2 nuts to spread out the LCA shock mount. It was bent in from over tightening. If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself... if you have the ability.

Someday I'll have a high celiling garage/ workshop with a lift. And more time. Wrenching will be fun again.

Mod days and backwoods wrenching at camp is always fun though. #coorslightfabwerx

    Edit:

    Kaaaaahngs!

I love it when shit breaks! Broken door handle? Fuck yeah! I love that shit.
Or so I keep telling myself.
I have zero shade where I work on my truck. Luckily it's 95 degrees at work most of the time so when I'm baking in the sun I hardly notice.

Yep. Nothing better than working on shit you can't see clearly. I got home and decided to paint my grille surround at 10 pm. Got the base coat all done, go to sleep, wake up and check my work. Nice dime sized spot of primer that I apparently missed.

This is completely my experience as well. I've let my 4runner sit for the last 8 months because I literally have no motivation at 10 PM anymore to get out and wrench while not waking the neighbors/kids. Rotating tires takes 2x as long because I can't use my impact, drives me crazy. Also if I stay up late working on it, I'm hating life the next morning waking with the 1 year old at 6 AM.

Those kings sure are pretty though, started to take mine apart this weekend, but noticed a shaft needs replacing, so back to waiting for that to come in. I'll be in the cool kid club at some point.

Had an ex-gf that drove a 1988 528e. We took that thing everywhere. Went camping up around Bowman Lake a few times. Never broke down. Had about 240K when she sold it and it still ran great. I think it was those long blocks that were damn near bullet proof.

My mom had a grey market '78 323i back around '98. I was hoping to get my hands on it eventually, that is until an uninsured 20-yo rear-ended her. The insurance company wanted to treat it like a 320i and give her like $2K for it. That still burns.

Looked a lot like this except it was green with BBS wheels. Loved driving that car. Sounded good too.

    Some really cool shit

3.Slo is what a Toyota mechanic said to me. I had a 94 4Runner. I loved that rig but my foot was to the floor 80% of the time. No guts at all. K&N intake helped a tiny little itty bit for freeway on ramp speed, but all packed up for camping/fishing I struggled up the freeways going to Tahoe or Shasta. It truly was gutless. Off road, no issues.

Yea same here going up hill. My pick up though same motor one year older was way stronger never struggled up hill. I'm guessing pick ups had more torque or hp.
