I'm giving Toyota until Jan 1, 2019 to come out with a software update that fixes my obnoxious transmission with all of its clunking, hard downshifts, and erratic shifting. Made an agreement with my wife that either I'll ditch the Taco and she won't hear me complain or I'll be stoked about the fix and she's not allowed to complain about how much I spend on mods. #compromise

The 2018 Ford 5.0L is going to have sprayed in cylinder liners, they are dropping the cast iron cylinder liners, duh. There goes another iconic engine. I believe the V6 eco boost may have spray in liners also in 2018 not sure. No thanks. Been tried before, fail. There is always hope for the new 2018 F150 3.0L turbo diesel engine. Might be a winner. Our choices are shrinking rapidly for a reliable truck.

Finally figured out why these 2 looked familiar.

Does the 'dealer' install the lifts and 35s on every vehicle they bring in?

I'd go for that Inferno Tundra.

Yup spray in liners also sad, real sad and you can be sure there will be problems as there always are, I like the old 5.0L so sad...

The new 2018 also features the start/stop technology, great! More wear & tear as if Ford owners need more of it on the already flaky starter, alternator, battery the whole starting/charging system enchilada.
And the Ford starting system is no Toyota, it's always been a source of pain & aggravation, just like GM.

Thanks but no thanks, I'll stick with my Taco, you can have the enchiladas hehe!

    Cheers!

I would wait for the Ranger Raptor, Looks to be a heck of a truck. If it has the Ecoboost it will be a beast.

If looks were the case I would pick the chevy, I personally hate the flares on the Ford. I owned a 2015 Lariat for 8K miles before trading it in due to a leaking Panoramic roof, But I would still pick the Ford over the Chevy (I think).

For some of these posts, a violin playing sad music in the background, would be most appropriate. Seriously though, sorry you got a bad one, mine is Great with a Capital "G".

I voted F-150, but I'm biased. Coming from a turd gen 3.5 to a gen 2 ecoboost felt like I was saddling up a rocket ship. I don't drive the truck much (2 days a week), but I like it thus far. Just a FX4 XLT Screw with the max tow package and big tank, but its fun. Leveled, 275/70/18's, tinted windows.

I am pretty sure that 100% of Toyotas AC are not failing like the GM shit. And if it does, it doesn't take 60 days to get fixed. The condenser for GM is backordered by 35,000 units and they still wont acknowledge there is a problem.

My 16 Tacoma, just like my 14 Tacoma and my 14 tundra, has had 0 problems. Sorry if you have had a different experience. Not sure why you state you can't get rid of it. I have only had this truck for 1.5 yrs, had negative equity in it, by a couple grand, and could sell it today for more than what is owed.

Because stupid people pay the price. Then get fucked when they go to trade because they didn't do their pricing or market analysis to get a good deal to begin with.

Same way people overpay for used Tacomas and have a mentality that "well shit I can get a new one for the price of a used"...that's exactly what the dealer wants you to think my man!
