I do like the trailer idea also. But I have been eyeballing a truck vault for some time and thought that I could build one my self fo a fraction of the price. You sir have proven my theory correct.

Well, my price does not reflect the cost involved. The drawer slides alone are north of $600 for two sets. But, yeah, you can do well if you simplify.

Yeah I read through the build of this so I understand the time, money and effort you put into this. I am headed to Colorado so if you are willing to meet me half way between you and me....

Waiting for parts and someone to take the old camper off my hands. In the meantime, here's an updated photo of the truck!

    IMG_5034.jpg
With bedsides and 550lbs of fence building fun loaded inside. I may add another spacer under the rear of the bed. It seems a little low in the back when loaded to what 'normal' may be with the camper on it. All of the sloping body lines on the cab don't help! Anyway, the bed is awesome. I really dig it! I may have to add airbags and daystar cradles for the camper though. Once I add another battery, water, the camper and all our camping/recovery/tools, it's going to need some help! Of course, I'm used to seeing the truck unloaded with something like 4"+ lift in the back. Haha.

Just to keep this alive, here's an update on my workflow plan: I'll be starting on the floor of the new camper next week. Need to pick up some marine grade plywood first. I'm working on my bumper this week to try to get that knocked out so it doesn't take up space/time while I'm working on the camper. Soon, my friends. Very soon.

Two new sheets of 1/2" marine grade plywood! This will get joined together and cut down to form the floor of the camper.

    IMG_5135.jpg

And, while typing this, I realized I meant to get three sheets. Oops. Oh well, I can join these and cut them down and all that jazz. I'll have to get another sheet later to do the two ribs that I want to run the length of the floor where the mounts will be.

Just dropped my bumper off for powdercoat. That means it's time to clean the garage and start cutting stuff up to make a camper! Progress will finally be made.

Finished up some MAJOR cleaning, rearranging and getting rid of stuff. I have a few straggling bits to get out of the way tomorrow after work then I'm cutting plywood. Finally! Also nice to see the top of my workbench again. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Well, I got excited. It's clean enough. Time for camper work! I'm going to be making a ton of sawdust anyway so it'll need another cleaning soon.

    IMG_5166.jpg
Some of the stuff under the table goes away when I get my bumper installed and some of it will go away when I get it sold on Craigslist or given away. If anyone needs anything really random, let me know because I'm busting at the seams with random! :help:
