I own a 2016 SR5 4x2 in MGM. I'm in love with the truck and it's my second tacoma after my 2004 that was also an amazing truck. I pretty much got talked out of 4x4 because of higher insurance and gas milage... plus there were none in my area, my 2004 sold and I needed a truck immediately for work so I ended up pulling the trigger on my current tacoma.
( I see many 4x4 that get better gas milage than my sr5 4x2... I average like 16-17)

I am an adventurer and have a house in Baja so i'm down there once a month. I like to off road and mine is used as a truck.
Long story short is I totally REGRET not having 4x4. I've been in situations where I can't continue on the trail because I'll probably get stuck. I can't to a lot of the stuff I want to do.

I also kind of regret my color but then I don't when it's clean! A clean MGM looks amazing and I love it. But it takes some effort to keep it clean...

Now that cement is supposably going to be released from the Pros i've really been thinking or trading my 2016 for a 4x4 2018 on a cement taco. I also love the Barcelona red and the white.

I mainly started this thread to ask for some very specific photos.
    Anyone out there have:
A Barcelona Red with bronze/gold wheels?
A cement taco with non factory wheels or tires?
A white taco with bronze/gold or silver/gunmetal color wheels? (yes I know theres many of these)

And yes I have been on TW long enough to have gone through the color threads but there may be people who haven't posted theirs.

Advice on the 4x4 gas milage and pros and cons is also appreciated.

Go trade. Get what you want if you can afford it. Life is too short. Come back when you get it. 2wd will get better MPG than 4wd. Simple physics.

I could at least lock my rear on my last tacoma but not on this one. Like I said, they didn't have any, I couldn't wait on a 4x4 and it just happened but yeah I regret not having 4x4

If you can afford to, trade up :) sucks you didn't get what you want, but if you can fix it, why not?

Don't beat yourself up too much. I bought a small car last year instead of a taco thinking I didnt need a truck and should save some money. Kept it for a year and I regretted my decision the entire time. Ended up trading it in for my current taco last month and am much happier. Yeah I lost money on the deal.. But like hipsi said. Life's too short

I say if you can take the hit go look for a TRD OR 4x4. Mts, crawl control, etc.... the pro isnt really anymore than a OR with a simple fox suspension which you will most likely replace so why spend the money on a expensive dealer lift you probably be unhappy with in 3 months time. Buy a OR and make it a pro you can buy the badge and put it on and 99 percent wont know the difference lol

Just thought I'd chime in that MGM was my first choice for color, but I think white is the best for hiding scratches. I'm glad I ended up with white after the amount of scratches I've already accumulated off roading.

They were hot back then... I bought mine as soon as the 16's came out and all the 4x4's were sold or not even on lots yet unfortunately.

White does look mean. I avoided white because I associate the color with rental cars. But I must say I always do a double takes on the white tacos on the road...very nice color for this truck.

Trade her off. You'll eat some cash but it's worth it to get what you need...

Out of the 3 that you listed. I give my vote to Barcelona Red. Cement looks great, but I don't think it's one of those colors that will stand the test of time. White...remind me of a workers truck, lol. If you're a fan of fun colors, maybe wait and see how the calvary blue would look on the taco?
