    Hi Everyone!

My name is Chris and I am new to the forum. I don't actually even have a Tacoma...yet!

I'm a recent college grad and currently work as a public accountant. For about 4 years now the Tacoma has been my dream car and will be my first big purchase in a few months!!!

I've set my mind on some things already, let me know what you think/ suggestions (for brands) you may have:

    - 2017 Black Tacoma Access Cab TRD Sport 5-speed manual (unless annoying to drive)
    - Light bar IN the hood scoop (how cool is that!?)
    - TRD Pro matte black grill
    - 3" lift kit (suspension most likely)
    - bigger tires
    - roof rack for skis and eventually rooftop tent

The thought of being able to travel anywhere is awesome. I can't wait to make my dreams a reality soon!!

    -Chris

Yes! Haha oops. 6-speed manual, 4.0L V6. Obviously 4x4 and most likely the long bed! Was never really a fan of the double cab-short bed look.

Nice choice! You will fall in love with the manual transmission. Not sure if you have owned a standard transmission vehicle before, but typically people hate them at first while learning how to smoothly operate them, then they fall in love with them. Manual is the only way to go in a Toyota pickup, in my opinion. Standard transmissions are a blast.

Thanks for the reply NM Lance!

Yes my current car is a 5-speed Mitsubishi lancer that I got specifically because I wanted a stick. IMO it was the best option (aesthetics, mpg, fun, etc) for me; thought about a mustang, but it'd be too hard to drive in the northeast winter's.

I looked at the Tacoma's gear ratios and I am kind of nervous because 1-2nd gear difference is kind of steep like my lancer (which drives me insane waiting for the RPMs to drop to the correct amount for 2nd).

But I've never test-drove a Tacoma! I'm saving that for when I can actually buy one, so who knows, maybe I'll love it too!

The ratio difference is definitely pretty steep between 1 and 2 and it takes some time to get used to, but it is great to have that very low first gear, especially in a truck. Go test drive a few of them and shop around. I'll bet you will be sold after that.
