I've had an issue with my door that's been gradually getting worse(I suspect it's what caused my inner door handle to break). My driver door doesn't always unlock properly..or maybe lock properly. When the lock sticks, I cannot unlock it from the inside, can't pull the door lock up, the only way to open the door is rolling down the window, pulling the outside handle, which seems to reset the lock, then unlocking the door to open it. Using my key from the outside, I usually have to pull the handle first, otherwise I can't turn the key in the lock. No issues with the passenger door. They're electric locks, and I'm seriously starting to consider trying to change them out to manual, I don't have a lock/unlock fob anyway.
    Any ideas?

I'll try that out then, hopefully that'll solve it before I break another handle

Hopefully. My passenger door was about to break from cranking on it to open and I sprayed it as well and now it opens like new. Just a weird tacoma thing I guess, Ive had old chevy's and they would be rusty and still open fine, just squeak or whatever but never hang up or lock themselves.

Well....a dozen trial runs and no sticking...I used my WD-40 bike chain lube for lack of standard spray....it's way easier to unlock period. Thanks!

The original WD-40 is a solvent, not a lubricant (unless it has changed over the last 40 years). It will work for a short time as a lubricant after it washes away the dirt and grit, but you'll hafta respray often. I think it's just better to replace the worn parts.

I used a bicycle chain lube made by WD-40. Eventually I will get all the worn parts replaced, definitely, my door has other problems... Like my having to shove an empty bottle in the door to hold it open. I have a lot of plans for my truck, until I get to doing them, I'll go with what I can do cheaply to give me more life, as long as it doesn't hurt anything long run of course.
