Wow. That is some bad rust. It looks like they painted the frame to hide it - you can see the rust holes.

Wow, that reminds me some people in 80-s duct taping a piece of cardboard to Fiat's panels and painting it over to cover fist size holes just to pass the inspection. What a ghetto. :puke:

The fact they sprayed all that stuff all over just makes it a pain to fix!!

That's absolutley not a guaranteed free frame replacement... we have no idea if it was sprayed or inspected previously. Also what location the truck was sold or lived in.
It may well qualify but OP, don't consider it a no doubter.

If you're asking us if you should buy this truck based on the frame condition, then my opinion is to pass.

This isn't some bad rust. This is frame rot. So bad it has started to eat through the frame......

Doesn't look too bad from the outside, just a few holes, but the thing is that the frame rotted from the inside out. So what you don't see is actually worst than what you see.

If you're looking to buy this truck, it's a big NO

If the truck is yours, then your frame definitely needs some attention and repairs

    Pretty much stock right now
What's the story on this one? That's in bad shape, and hopefully still under warranty. The clock is ticking though, and it may already be too late.

I knowingly bought a 96 like that a few months past the service campaign cutoff for 96's. Got it cheap and the truck was mint otherwise. I cut out lots of sections and plated over it then rustproofed it. Got it through state inspection no problem but every time I was under it I found more areas that needed attention. They do rust from the inside out so definitely worse than it looks. If it's yours and never went in for the service campaign you're SOL at this point and may as well fix it. If it's one you're looking at buying I would have a dealer run the VIN to see if it still qualifies.

Try to find solid metal to weld to and you'll quickly find out its 10 times worse than it looks now. Run away unless you get approval for frame replacement

shame somebody that doesn't know what their looking at will see the shinny black framd and go and buy the truck which is pretty much unsafe to drive imo. This is basically scamming if you ask me.

Worse (more expensive) than "Windows Security" scam. Should be a crime.
