I have become a fan of this stuff. Really makes the paint bead. Does anyone else use this?

Waxes are too much work for me. Require me to clay and reapply every month. I'm a sealer guy. Apply twice a year and I'm done.

This stuff can be applied after a wash, just spray on and wipe. Sort of like a quick detailer

I'm a fan of Duragloss. I used it the 1st time and when I got home from the car wash I sat down and ordered a gallon of it. I have the Griot's spray wax on my Amazon wish list though. Like to try it out someday..

I was at work and some jerk hit my truck leaving some paint transfer. I've tried to remove the paint with a lint free cloth, but it's not coming off. I'm sure the damage is unrepairable by just trying to wash, wax and trying to rub it off. Is there anything else I can try???? Look at how much room I gave the asshole. The vehicle next to me in the picture was not the jerk...he/she left before I could kick their ass.

Wash, clay, then a DA Polisher with a polish pad should help clean it up.

Might come right off with rubbing compound and some elbow grease

My wife let the kids spray themselves with sun block in the garage all summer . . . Right next to my truck. The entire front driver quarter panel has little speckles on it. I didn't notice the overspray until I washed it last weekend. I've tried wax (didn't do a thing) and a clay bar where I had to rub back and forth with moderate force. The clay bar didn't do anything if I just gently glided it over the panel. Half the spray dots are still there. Fortunately the truck is silver so it isn't too noticeable but I'd still like to get it all off if possible.

Anyone have ideas on what else I should try?

    Thanks,
    Steve

A wash with a clay bar shoukd take it right out. There shouldn't be anything on the panel that shouldn't come right off.

Don't use any kind of wax, that likely will just magnify the problem. Plus wax is a protectiveciating, it diesn't clean. Don't use a cleaner wax either. Maybe rubbing compound but not wax.

Thanks for the reply. I waxed the panel, as the first attempt to remove the sunblock, before using the clay bar. Would that have reduced the effectiveness of the clay bar? If it did do I need to strip the wax (with dish washing detergent?) off the panel before trying either the clay bar again or rubbing compound?

In order of abrasivenes is the order wax, clay bar, polishing compound, then rubbing compound? I'm scared to really mess up the clearcoat so I'm willing to take incremental steps to get that crud off my truck.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I would use a wax stripping soap to get the wax off then clay. Dish soap will not always strip it off, but it will help.

Wax and sealers are not abrasive, neither is a clay bar. Waxes and sealers are protective finishes, they do nothing to clean the surface.

Clay bars clean paint and remove contaminants from the surface of the paint. You are correct, waxing beforehand will reduce the effectiveness of the clay.

If the clay bar doesn't work then hit the panel with a by hand polishing compound. You will not mess up the clearcoat when doing it by hand. Even with a DA machine lokisher it woukd be hard to screw this up.

Thanks for the info. This weekend I'll get some wax stripper and then clay bar the panel again. Hopefully that will get everything off the panel.

    Thanks,
    Steve
