OR and PRO now come with removable diff cover

Just got this email from Toyota Corporate...

What the what

 

perhaps it was removed for photo purposes.

Seriously, it was cut away to illustrate what's inside the rear end. Pulling out the third member and just showing that wouldn't nearly be as cool for a promotional image.

 

It's permanently lubed, duh! They made the ring gear out of delrin to save weight and cut cost.

I wonder if the locker harness is the same as on gen 2 trucks. Once the quirks are worked out that might be cool to retrofit into a second gen: beefier R&P, no more stupid exposed external motor and lower gearing especially if from a manual truck
