Hey, Just wanted to officially introduce myself. I started a thread when I was investigating buying a 2009 Tacoma. A bunch of you were a lot of help. I ended up buying a 2011, double cab, TRD, short bed, with 56k on the odo, last week Tuesday.

All in all it's in pretty good shape. Two little dinges both less than the size of a dime and a few cosmetic scratches (not through to the metal). The cargo net was missing in the floor console and a bolt cover on the rear bumper was also missing. Both have been replaced. It had an aftermarket shift knob that wasn't my style so I put in a stock one.

I took it off road for about 40 minutes last Friday in the north woods of Michigan. Nothing serious, only put it in 4 wheel drive once. I may hit some of you up on how a few of the "traction control / assist" features work. I had a Disco with locker and downhill assist so I'm good on those, it's the other two features that have me guessing. I started reading the manual but there were a lot of double negatives and I wasn't getting it on the first try. I'll also hit up Youtube.

I promised a picture to the guys who were giving me advice while I was shopping, so here you go...

Oh about me... I'm from the west side of Michigan (GR). I have a little rustic place up north on a lake. I fish, hunt, chop wood, you know normal things for a guy from Michigan who likes being outdoors. I'll take the truck off road but mostly to get to hunting and fishing spots. I'll put the truck to work hauling fire wood, lumber and building material for home and cabin improvements and especially for the outdoor ice rink I build every year. I'm a mechanical engineer and worked in the automobile industry for 17 years (before I wised up). I have a wife and a son and I go to church. There you go all you wanted to know and probably a little more.

I look forward to interacting with you guys as I'm new to owning a Toyota.
