This noise has been driving me nuts! :annoyed:
It's intermittent... seems to happen only when car has warmed up and been driving a while.
Belt n all pulleys have been replaced recently including crankshaft and tensioner pulley.
Noise can happen whether ac is on or off.
Since it's intermittent it tends to go away when I pop open the hood to try chase it down. Also I don't want to bring it to stealer ship since there is a high chance they won't encounter the sound.
Also kinda embarrassing loud enough people on pavement look at my truck cos it's a weird sound.
Anyway any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

That doesn't sound good at all. A gurgling sound usually only means one thing. $$$ I could be wrong though.

Check the exhaust for rubbing. Do you have skids?

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
I recently (two days ago) replaced the serpentine/drive belt on my 2008 V6 Tacoma.

First off, was the correct serpentine/drive belt used?

When the new serpentine/drive belt was installed, are you certain for sure, for a fact that it was installed correctly?

Meaning that when installed it was routed the correct/right way?

Ribbed part/side of belt making contact with pulleys with ribbed side and smooth side of belt making contact on smooth side of pulleys with smooth surface?

Also were all other pulleys checked for any other wobbling, loose, etc.

    Double check everything.

Good Luck on solving this issue and keep us posted on how or if you ever do get it resolved.

    No skid plates.
I am 100% sure belt is on properly and correct orientation. Also torqued all pulleys to spec but ill do it again just to be sure nothing came loose.
When it happens, this noise is only at idle or stop after engine has warmed up. Also made this noise occasionally before I replaced belt.
This noise is not constant... it only happens sometimes usually at a stop.
I will work on getting a video with hood popped open.. just need to wait until this noise happens again and I'm in my driveway.
Can you explain in more detail where to look? I'm guessing ur not talking about exhaust pipe
Thanks for all help so far tw

    Ok an update
A few days after post the ac compressor seized.
Replaced the tensioner which I already knew was bad, and ac compressor. Noise fixed.

How much to replace the compressor? Think mine just seized.

I needed a fix fast so I went to dealership near me
1300 for new (non oem) ac compressor, evacuate and refill lines etc and also included replacement belt tensioner
I'm sure u can get significantly cheaper at auto ac specialist or non dealership mechanic

Yeh I would get a few quotes especially ac auto specialist shops. cos I'm sure you can have a place do it for half to 3/4 what I paid. I had 90plus weather n had a baby to drive around so had to get it repaired asap. Otherwise I would have avoided the dealership

Taking it in first thing in the morning. I'm sure it'll be less than the dealership & more than I want to spend, but shit happens.

Well good news, kinda. Went to my local garage where I've been going for years & was told my compressor grenaded & repair estimate was $2400 & change. For shit & giggles I decided to go to my local Toyota dealership for an estimate. Figured if I'm spending that much, a couple hundred more for genuine Toyota parts may be worth it. Mechanic took all of 30 seconds to check it out & say it's just my clutch. Just under a grand.
