So I might have to drop my transmission to have my slave cylinder changed but I'm not sure yet but if i do I'm going to go ahead and change the clutch but I want a heavy duty clutch for wheeling and daily driving any suggestions on what clutch I should get??

I have put about 40k miles of stop and go and done lots of wheeling on my Exedy clutch and am still pleased. It is definitely heaver than stock but I enjoy having a heavier clutch that hooks harder, even in traffic.

A lot of people go with the Marlin HD clutch but I don't think it's worth the added cost unless you're boosted.

    Dear Noe,

How is it going? I see you are trying to determine what kind of clutch to go with for your Tacoma. I have the exact same rig as you. I started doing research on clutches a few years back when my rig exceeded the 150,000 mile mark. I thought for sure my clutch would be failing soon with that many miles on it. Fortunately for me, it now has 169,xxx miles on it, and it has shown no sign of failing.

This is what I have found out from the research I have done. If you use your rig as a truck, and do hauling, towing, and lite offroading, the stock Aisin or aftermarket LUK or Exedy will work just fine. If you do a lot of hardcore four wheeling, you might want to upgrade to a heavy duty Marlin or Centerforce.

    Good Luck in your decision,
    Paul

I went with a marlin crawler clutch, it's been great since putting it in.

I have to wonder I never thought to drop the Transmission to change the slave cylinder .

I do know some vehicles did have them internal I never saw a Toyota though maybe one imported from the Over Seas market.

In that case I have no idea just what Clutch would fit

Thanks everyone for the feedback I do believe the slave cylinder is external and won't have to drop transmission to replace it And will consider changing the master cylinder as well and I hope I make a good decision on a clutch to choose I only have 134,xxx miles so I'm hoping I'll get a lot more out of my stock clutch

You do not need to drop the transmission to change the slave cylinder.
