Installed Bilstein 5100's all the way around my truck almost a year ago and it seems like the front settled at .90 inches lower in front than the rear stock 4 leaf pack. I had set the Bilsteins at 0.85 to avoid the front sitting higher than rear but I am currently thinking about bumping them up to 1.75 to get closer to level as that was my original plan. If my math is correct, after the Bilsteins get bumped to 1.75 I should sit just below level. (.10 difference, although lifts aren't exact) Anyone have or had a similar situation?IMG_1702.jpg

Have you noticed the dreaded needle bearing noise up front? The noise will go away when you switch into 4wd high. Kinda sounds like excessive tire noise. If you do, you may need to consider the ECGS fix. There is a lot of info on it here in TW.

I started out at 1.75" on my access cab, and the needle bearing noise was pretty pronounced. I dropped the 5100's to .85" (second lowest setting) and waited for things to settle a bit, and the noise is gone now. That doesn't mean I won't have to replace the needle bearing eventually, I do have some up-and-down play on my CV axle at the diff. Just something to consider... your truck looks good!

How much higher is the front than the rear? Measure from the ground to the fender flair (the apex).

My math is showing an even level at 1.75.

I have not heard that noise in my truck, but it'll be something to keep an ear out for.

Currently my truck isn't nose high. I went 0.85 to avoid being noise high. Right now front is .90 inch lower with Bilsteins set @0.85 setting. So bumping Bilsteins to 1.75 should take care of the .90 in front lean giving me a more level look. Picture shown is Bilsteins at 0.85.

He has a Pre Runner, so no need to worry about that.

It depends on what you consider level as well. I had mine set to 1.75" with only the new TSB rear spings for about a month. It measured dead level, but still looked slightly nose high to me, so I got an AAL.

I have read that even dead level Tacomas sometimes look nose high.. guess I'll have to decide that for myself once I adjust the shocks. But I guess level to me would be even space from center of center cap to fender. I can always consider an AAL if it looks too nose high..
