    Hey guys,

My buddy owns a badass 1992 Pickup, and he just replaced the valve cover gasket. After he finished the work, the truck started just fine and we took it for a drive to see how it rode. Weirdly enough, the truck randomly misfired, but it did not throw any codes. We have been stumped about what may be wrong with the truck. Any thoughts?

The truck has the 3.0l V6 engine, 4x4. Thank you for the time guys!

Wrong section but it has nothing to do with your PCV. Start with plugs and wires. Next I would start suspecting an injector is dying.

If you could get it to misfire long enough to get a code, that would be very helpful to you. I would immediately check the compression of each cylinder (unless you can get one misfire code to point to the suspect cylinder) and see what your readings are. The 3.0 has adjustable valves by changing out the bucket shims. It is actually a 60k maintenance item if you look in the FSM. Also those engines like a burn a particular exhaust valve (I was to say #6) and a compression check would tell you that too)

Hey guys just wanted to let you know his injector plug clips were loose thus causing them to rattle the plugs out when the engine was attempting to run. This, no control in engine. The guys are going to break the truck apart again and put it back together! All good to go. Old plastic breaking...‍♂️
