Property owner tells me every year that I'm doing it wrong. Says when I come out to hunt, about 30 minutes or so after I get there and head into the woods, a group of deer with at least 1 nice buck stroll into his backyard and check out my vehicle, then come eat grass next to his back porch.

Might have to reevaluate my strategery

That's the nature of the game...

squirrel hunting with a .22 lr = you'll see the biggest buck you've ever laid eyes on 200 yds away
deer hunting with a .270 = squirrels decide to invade the motherland with every member of their army.

I process and butcher it myself. Meat you get from a processor is rarely exclusively your harvested animal and I know how sanitary my work area is. Not so much with theirs.

I always feel it connects me more to the hippy shit aspect of it too :anonymous:

Also have to take into consideration the butchers tax. Did my own my whole life except once. Knew from experience how much to expect back, ended up with 2/3rds of that amount with lots of silver. Lesson learned.

This is eastern Kentucky. You don't see deer at 200 yds

Too thick and hills. But those damn deer sure can see a hunter!

I don't have much issue with squirrels ratting on me, mostly Blue Jays. You're right, I do see a lot of squirrels and few deer during gun season

I got lucky. The person I took it to had few deer to process and I knew I got mine back because it wasn't shot up all to shit!

I shot once and dropped him. Those other Buckeye hunters....man! I've never seen so many bullet holes in deer before! Some I saw hanging had 3+ bullet holes in them, and only 1 other deer was actually shot in the "kill zone".

Saw a good buck yesterday in the field where I've got permission to hunt. Tried to get a pic of him, but it's too blurry to tell anything.

Then one of my buddies was going by my spot either yesterday morning or today and saw these...

Everything is coming to feeder right now. Drying up. We'll probably get our rain right before season and scatter it all.

yeah lots of water holes around and they are going to them here, Ive been trying to catch up to some elk but so far only have seen some cows and a baby. I did see some nice bull tracks last week on a ridge behind our house. If his rack is anything related to his hoof hes a beast. But I know this isnt the case a lot of times, I'd just be happy to see him...

Have four white tail doe and a young buck living on my new 12 acre property and drinking water out of my stock pond in my back yard. Seven year old boy gets excited when he sees them and then bummed out that he can't bow hunt yet.

890 pics on my camera this week. One crappy picture of 1 decent young buck, a ton of pictures of 4 other small bucks, and about 50 pics of a little bear.

This guy recently showed up on my cam. Needless to say I'm a little excited for deer season.
