I took today off in preparation for a week off. Between today and tomorrow I gotta get the lawns mowed, Jeep checked over, get to the chiropractor and get laundry done....4 things, 2 days, I think I can do this.

I'd really like to be able to sleep in, but it seems I can only do that if I'm sick or injured.

I like the bobtail work being done in 1911 thread.
I opted for the Brownells epoxy versus cerakote due to cost . And I didn't want to stink up our oven. I'd never hear the end of that.

Well the barn guys can't understand a detail drawing on what I'm needed for cutouts so they split. Guess I have to do that too. Wtf is up with people nowadays in the trades? After our generation, society will be hurting if nobody is being trained properly.

I don't understand where I work construction side has helpers. Repair side doesn't. We help each other so nobody learning on my side. Other companies have helpers but don't know if I'd have the freedom or a 4 day work week there.

I spent a couple years in union here. I left after seeing the connected guys do nothing and the rest of us do it all. And they helpers couldn't touch pipe until their 4th year?! And the guys that bitched the most sat the longest on the bench.

    Friday. :pccoffee:

Cat. Allergies. Not a fan of cats.

Lady friend of mine that lives in town called me at 6 AM this morning. Said she got up at 2:30 in the morning to go the bathroom and looked out her window and saw a rabbit running fast out from under a spruce tree. Then a 6 foot long cougar came out from under the tree. One killed a 100 pound great Dane at the bottom of the ravine where I live 2 years ago. I like bobcats and lynx. Big cats and small cats not so much.

Even for as long as I've been doing my job, I still look at improving my skills as an operator. On the electrical and plumbing side, it's all uphill for me. I haven't done enough of either to really be confident. Simple repairs with plumbing, sure. Electrical, sometimes. I do have on heck of a seasonal guy though. So I learn what I can while he's here.

That's one of the reasons I work the mid shift; my mouth would certainly get me trouble on day shifts around here. I hate politics and detest drama. Wrangled enough reindeer on active duty to last a lifetime ... not doing that this time around.
