Did some wheeling at prairie city, truck did well, but I definitely need a regear. Anybody with a regear have any insight on how much of a difference it made crawling with the 5 speed?

Did an easy mod and added a set of wheelers bump stops. There made for 2nd gen tacomas, but I think they work well even for the 1st gen.

I like them so far. The stock one are like rocks. Ive been trimming away on mine lately haven't rubbed much besides the passenger side just a bit. Ive been looking through your build and I'm trying to find some information on gear ratios. I do mostly slow crawling since I'm in NorCal and I'm tired of being on the clutch. Looking at a regear to 4.88s do you think those will help at all in slowing the crawl speed much. Not too concerned with how it does on the street since my highway trips are usually short. I saw you had 4.56s and plan to regear

I'm still stock gearing. But I plan on getting 4.56s since I'm a manual V6, I won't be doing any hard core crawling but will be in the rocks so I think I'll be fine. I know 4.88s are a little over geared for manual and V6s but that's not a big issue. If you plan on doing that and don't use it for long distance trips go that way. It'd help off road a little more than 4.56s I would think

Thanks for the help. Truck has a lot of miles so I don't do long trips with it except to go off road anyways.

Did some wheeling up near eagle lakes. Wasn't 100 percent sure what trail I was on since I usually don't go out that way and it's not very well marked, but got some decent pictures and had a fun time.

Nothing new with the truck lately got a nice picture of a little drift last weekend. Gonna save some money and look into a dual case setup or atlas. Need to figure something out to slow the truck down in the rocks. Riding the clutch isn't very fun and neither is replacing another.

Yeah I probably will once I'm done with school and get a good job. I live like an hour from the rubicon so I do a lot of that kind of wheeling

I didn't wanna spend a bunch of money on mods this month, so I picked up some cheap light pods off Amazon. Haven't wired the lights yet, still need some brackets to mount them near my hood. But I wired the turn on switch so far. Also picked up a set of cv boots to reboot my original cvs to run as spares on the trail.

I was thinking the same thing but my trucks not even very tall. And I'm pretty sure it's lower then it was with the bilsteins on it. I even trimmed a bunch more so I wouldn't have to raise them again
