Hey folks, it's about time to start doing some mods. Anyone have any recommendations for a good shop in the North County San Diego area for lift/wheel/tires?

    Thanks!

The Truck Shop does good work for installs. There's also local members who will do the work (some full time job, some on the side).

As for the wheels and lift I might be able to set you up with a good deal through my work. Whatcha looking for?

I need new tires, and it has a bit of a wobble at highway speeds 55-65 so I figure while Im doing tires may as well do a few things. I'm looking to do some duatracs at 265/75/R16, some standard black steel wheels, and a 1-2" lift to give it a little more aggressive stance.

At my work I don't carry goodyear duratracs, and the steel wheels I have won't fit a Tacoma but they're out there.
I can definitely help you out with a little lift though. A really popular option is to go with Bilstein 5100s which will yield you the lift you're looking for. You could also do coilovers (Fox, Icon, King) if you'd like to have something more heavy duty and properly valved for offroad use.
To get everything done all at once the truck shop is a great place to go.

Thanks for the response. I was going for a pretty utilitarian look, and figured some simple 16" steel wheels like these:

But realistically, I wouldn't mind spending the extra money for something a little higher end. Maybe the Eagle Alloy 100's or the Method Hole wheel looks pretty classic, although I'd probably like to powder coat the silver bolts around the rim.

As far as lift, I'm open to the 5100s or the OME setup, whichever makes the most sense. I don't do any real hardcore off-roading,.. maybe the 16 hour drive to Scorpion Bay in Baja would be about the extent of it.

I can help out with the lift, but not wheels and tires as Im an installer/welder, not a retail guy. Bring me the stuff, I'll put it on properly, ;emme know if I can help.
    Thanks @opteron
