I paid $350-ish for the flywheel and went with the 30lb disc.

largely depends on the loan to value too. every bank/credit union/dealership has different LTV requirements, depending on purchase price and the value of the vehicle. it's a depreciating asset, so there are limitations on to how much they will finance for a given vehicle.

if buying from a dealer and credit/debt ratio/income is good, you can definitely use it in your favour to negotiate. honestly, I would just throw it in with the down payment up front unless there's a significant difference in the rate and terms for the loan.

if buying private party, look at options with a credit union as they usually have a cheaper APR than traditional banks.

That's what I am looking to do. no wonder you managed so well on stock gears for so long.

Overall would you do anything different next time around?

Preach, brother. It makes it all the more frustrating when I'm having such a bear of a time finding a job and I think that out there, there's probably some company that has my resume in the trash and a stupendous dumpster fire of a human being in the position I applied for...:anonymous:
I remember back at my first job out of college I had a manager ask me "how do I open Excel?":bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:
The punchline here was she was in charge of our data feeds which were mostly excel or csv based.

I would take the extra cash and put it towards a down payment. Then if I find myself with extra cash later, just bank it. When the banked cash matches the loan principal, pay off the loan. Anything more complicated than that invites bean counter nonsense, which will not be in your favor.

For $100, I should have done the short shifter way sooner. That's it though. I just got this clutch and flywheel last November, so fairly recent. Feels great.

found that when browsing. Dealership wants 400 + a $13.00 core charge for their clutch...... No one locally has the AISIN stuff except NAPA can get it same day but its $290.00

I feel ya on that. I was talking to a CTO who literally couldn't understand why a pop-up blocker would effect an SSO token from passing through. I just pisses me off knowing this guy is making six figures a year and doesn't understand how an SSO token works. I brought up SAML and I could hear the crickets chirping.
