Yeah, it'll definitely help. Unfortunately the only way to do this is to disassemble the coilovers again.

Yeah, huge difference. 881s are a 500lb coil and 375 mm long. 888s are a 590 lb coil and 405 mm long.

You're talking smallest to tallest springs here so you better know which you have.

No, if it was 881s the correct move is to get them off your truck ASAP and get proper coils on. I highly doubt they're 881s though. To check, go out to your truck and look at your coils. There should be a white tag on each coil saying exactly what it is.

You don't want 881 springs on a 3rd gen, go either 885, 887 or 888 at 0 depending on how high you want to go.

FFS! LOL aside from a harsher ride will it affect anything mechanically or limit the potential off road?

Did you ask your mechanic to put it on the second notch, or did he do it himself? I'd have him fix it for free since it's his mistake thinking they were 881s when it says on them 888s.

You may be at too much lift and tear your CV boots sooner. That's easy to check though. Just look at your CV axle and see if the rubber fins are touching each other.

He showed me the shocks and said he will put it up on the second notch which was different to what I read online because all of it was saying leave it a t 0. So I asked what springs, he said 881s. Then I asked is there a difference between 881s and 888s and he said they're both medium springs...so I went along with it not knowing much....damn

Yeah that's definitely on him, and they're two totally different springs as we've showed you.

Yep, get them set correct otherwise it will be more expensive to correct later as you might have more to fix.

It's the inner CV boot. It's the part circled in yellow. However, there's an easy fix. See that metal band around it? You can snip that off, slide the boot down an inch or so to separate the fins, then use a hose clamp to retighten and secure it. I need to do that to my truck.

Either way, I'd get it dropped to the 0 setting.

Thanks guys. I love this forum when it comes to things like these. So much useful info! I just emailed the shop, hopefully they reply back with a positive response. I'll update what they have to say.
