    Current mods/additions:
    -Roof patches
    -TRD shift knob
    -Toyota bed mat
    -Weathertech front and rear floor mats

    First up, new tires. As of now,I am planning on going with Cooper A/T3s. I do not want to go taller than 32.5", and do not want to go wider than 10.5". I will be using stock TRD Sport wheels. This leaves me with "std" rated 265/70/17 or 255/75/17, or, "C" rated 265/70/17.

    I will be driving appx. 1,000mi/mth, 50/50 hwy/city, while carrying a heavy backpack. In addition to that, I will be driving appx 250mi/mth on dirt/gravel/some sand/lake shores with rock/trails with sticks and fallen branches, while loaded to near full cargo capacity. The total amount of driving will be done in all weather conditions(minimal snow/ice, like 3"/yr for a couple weekends).

    Questions;
    Is the "C" rated tire justified?
    If I do not need the "C" rated tire, will the 255/75/17 fit on stock suspension without requiring any mods, and still allow full suspension travel?

    Welcome!

    If you are off-roading with a lot of weight as you said, I would think that the C rated tires would be worthwhile.
    When you air down for sand and general off-roading, it would support the fully loaded truck weight better then standard tires. Also help prevent punctures due to any rocks, sticks, or branches as you said as well.

    Not totally sure if the 255s will fit really. I would guess that there would be a good amount of rubbing even driving on the street just because of the 2.5" bigger diameter from stock, even though they are skinnier.

    I rubbed on the street occasionally with my tires that are 2.8" taller than stock, but they were also 1" wider as they are 285.
    I had 1.75" front lift too !

    My 2 cents!

    Thanks for the replies thus far, I appreciate it.

    Anyone else have anything to add or recommendations? I'm planning on updating this regularly as my build progresses for others to learn and pull information from.
