Buy a stripper, and use the sales on TW to get the same thing for a LOT LESS MONEY! (And it's a LOT more fun doing it yourself!)

Fellas. The tonneau cover was purposefully installed off center like that to correct the bro lean. No need for a spring insert before you go desert racing.

This build is obviously for professional buyers only.

Haha this is humorous. I worked for SET for 10 years, never knew they had a bad rap on here

These types of threads are all the same. Dealers wouldn't go to the trouble to do this if it didn't sell and/or bring in business.

Nearly every Jeep, Ram, Ford, Chevy and Toyota dealers modify vehicles. People love them. Plus it generates collateral sales. "Bob" may not be able to afford it....but perhaps that SR ACLB on the lot fits in his budget better. He's excited about the truck on the showroom floor and thinks, "hey, I could by this cheaper one and add my own shit".

And eventually someone will sport a hard on strong enough to want that modded truck. They will proudly own it and love it.

My local Toyota dealer has been on a kick lately lifting SR5 4Runners and putting wheels on them with offroad tires. They sell every one of them they mod.

Dealers are for-profit organizations....just as all businesses are. Nothing wrong about that at all. How many of you feel overpaid at work? How many of you business owners feel your company is making too much money? Rhetorical questions, of course.

As for the installation shown in the picture. I don't know. Does look kinda sketchy

There are a LOT of people who simply don't have the skills to do some of this, such as putting the "blk" letters onto the tailgate. It's sad, but think of all the crooked bumper stickers you've seen. What those people are good at is making money (well, some of them). As a result, they buy these rip off machines.

Fortunately, we here on turd gen TW know better and do the upgrades ourselves for far cheaper.

While this may be true. The reality is.....we here on TW account for a tiny portion of all Taco owners. The vast majority of owners have no clue about TW....nor would they even contemplate wasting time on a site like this.

Plus many people wouldn't have a clue as to where to begin to modify a vehicle. This is a turn-key ready-to-go solution.

Besides....this is what's "hot" right. Modded mall crawler type vehicles, bro trucks.....whatever you want to call them. Trucks are hot right now with cheap gas and easy credit. You can't fault a business for tapping into current trends. That's just smart practice

Don't think selling a stripper on TW would meet @tcBob 's forum guidelines.:rofl:

Plus the Fed's might come knocking. They frown (rightfully so) on that selling/trafficking kind of stuff.

Oh wait, were you speaking of a truck? :anonymous:

When it's back at $4+/gal. and rates have risen substancially, there will be a lot of repos and for sales out there.

Lots of the overextending soccer dad's and weekend warrior wanna be's will realize they are in way over their heads. Just like the late 2000's crowd was.

Good time for folks with cash to pick something up nice with much less Toyota tax impact.

I don't see gas ever hitting those prices again (or $5 like it got in my area), barring an extreme unforseen. The demand for gas in this country has plummeted and will continue to do so with vehicles getting much better mileage, hybrids, and the rise of electric. That combined with oil producing countries ridiculously overproducing it now.

Exactly. Can't blame the dealer really....some idiot will buy this truck and be completely happy and none the wiser. But damn....that tonneau install is unforgivable.

I'm in gulf states and had to go to SET to find a manual. Got a much better deal there than I could ever find here. Only thing is that goddamn platinum whateverthefuck they tack on for $700.
