    hey guys!

I don't know if anyone has had any experience with this website, but I've been looking to replace my non scooped hood with a scooped hood with no luck.

    https://www.carid.com/2017-toyota-t...8.html?parentsubmodel[]=SUBMODEL|TRD Off-Road

I would prefer to simply swap my hood out for a sport hood, but it seems like that may never happen so I've started to look into other options, and fell across this product

I spotted this hood on RockAuto and was wondering if anyone has had experience with it. The only thing you would need is the scoop parts from Toyota.

I ordered a bumper skin from CarID and it fit without issue. If ordering a hood I would meticulously inspect the hood on delivery for any shipping damage.

I just took this plunge and bought the carid scooped hood for my 2nd gen.

The packing job was basically non existent. Literally, the hood was placed in an open box and sent via fedex freight.

When I picked it up, I didn't see any damage, but the body shop pointed out a couple of areas that needed work. I sent images of the dents to carid and they refunded $50, 1/4 of the fees the body shop charged to fix the dents.

Other than that, the fitment is about 98%. There are a couple places where things are off by about 1/16th of an inch. The drivers side mount sticks up just barely more than the fender, etc.

The scoop insert is OEM, and I didn't have any issues with the fit.

Edit: i bought from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replace-TO1...Replacement-Hood-Panel-Brand-New/301956628790

    Currently wondering the same..
    $271.89 + 124.99 shipping, minus 5% discount code, $383
Price sounds ok, still would need paint and trim parts I'm just worried of shipping damage.

I may have to go this route, which sucks since I would just prefer to trade hoods, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to have an extra hood around.
