You buying the whole truck or just the canopy?

That price just reaffirms that I need to sell my truck on the west coast. That price is too high for a five lugger

    I agree.

But yeah I am just buying the canopy. I have a 99 Tacoma with the same bed length. Is it a decent canopy? Hold out for another better one? If not, what's a good offer for it?

it's an aluminum canopy, they weren't real expensive when new. Maybe 1-200? depending on age

If they want 5-600 definitely hold off for a fiberglass one.

What's the drawback to the aluminium one? Which one would be lighter?

I bought an A.R.E. aluminum cap, which had a built in lumber rack, for $225. It wasn't new, and I still have it. I prefer my fiberglass A.R.E. cap, which came on an older tacoma I bought, but it does not have the lumber rack.

This one's for an extra/double cab, not a reg cab, due to the angle against the cab. They are not interchangeable.

Aluminum should be a bit lighter.

ext cab and DC have the same slope but different lengths so still not interchangeable.

the reg cab would have a more vertical front portion

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I have an extra cab. I like that the aluminium is lighter, since I'll be travelling across the country and any way to make the load lighter is great. I'm tempted to hold out for a newer one, and maybe one with a lumber rack, but part of me also wants to just jump on this as it'll be cheap and he said it doesn't leak at all. Think I should just go for it?

Right you are, Ken. I forgot about the bed length - never had a double cab.

I have an ARE aluminum on my 2014 company truck and I rather have a fiberglass one. The lightest hail storms have left a few dings while the truck body has got nothing. It also has very small leaks in heavy rain and snow melt.
