You can also upgrade the headlights on those:

    http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/ipf-h4-rectangular-headlamp-insert-820h.html

I'm pretty sure the hood is the same until 01.

I have one of these if anyone wants it. $10 shipped. Came off my truck when I bought it and swapped it for a conventional bolt since I was taking the engine out and had to put it down on the oil pan plug. I have all my usual oil change stuff so the regular plug doesn't bother me. Just send me a PM.

That's what I've heard about the filter media and that's why I was curious as I think the next Oil Change I will go that route thank you. I normally use wix oil filters. Was a fan of Fram for 25 years until I found out how crappy they were made and I found out wix was one of the better ones next to Toyota

Those thin steel rotors are more for drag racing i thought? they don't seem like they'll hold much heat vs a thick iron rotor

Yea, there was a thread around with a guy that ended up cutting open a number of filters and Toyota turned out to be the best. They're decently priced, and the seal comes pre-lubricated.

Speaking of the Fumoto, I did my first oil change today at 65k. I couldn't be happier with the valve, especially with a length of tubing running down to the catch pan.

Honestly, I made a bigger mess with the damn filter and then dumping the oil than I did draining it.

I got one for my B day back in July but haven't had to change the oil yet. It's the F103N. Around here, the general consensus is kind of mixed. It's not messy, I'll give you that. And it clears the skid plate correct? But I've read it could get hung up on stuff. Do you keep the clip on it around the valve? I've heard that safety feature isn't something you really need. But people do use it.

It clears my RAT Products skid, no problem. As for it catching on things, well, with the skid I don't see how that's possible. For me, it was well worth it.

And yes I do use the clip. It's probably not needed, but engine oil is, so I'm cool with the added bit of insurance.

What is the advantage of the V8 filter? I have an oil change coming up.

Picked up the manual hubs, 2 sets of CV's, and the steering knuckles today for my 4WD swap.

Anyone ever powdercoat in a toaster oven? I don't want to ruin my full size food oven. Planning on coating them red and black, the Tundra calipers too when I get them eventually.

It's just a little bigger for a little more filtration media. For those that own both a 1st gen Tundra V8 and a Tacoma V6, you only need to stock one filter for both trucks.
