Evening all. Our church had a car show fund raiser this afternoon. Nice afternoon but the sun was strong sitting in the parking lot. No cut off so there were a bunch of model T's up to new corvettes. There was a 37 (I think) suburban running a Cummins 4BTA - nice setup. The Nova in the second picture took the trophy and it should have. The photo doesn't do it justice; it was that clean of a car.

No I never had but heard you got to go to one  And thanks for the link it is about an hour and a half away from me. First sponsor listed is where I work and never heard of it, think I will check it out. Don't believe I will ever compete I cook for myself and friends once you get into those comp things your cooking for a judge and what they want. But I am always up to learning something new and better ways to do things!

No no anyone and everyone on here is invited. Actually I do that a lot call up a friend and invite them over for supper, seems like no matter who it is they almost never refuse and come over. Of course that means he\she doesn't cook either LOL so not saying much.

Early supper tonight was surf and turf with zukes

    almost done.jpg

With brown butter, minced garlic and a little lemon.

    brown butter.jpg

Turned out perfect. Except there is no left overs that is the only problem with having friends over. But that is OK too...

All this talk about Winter preparation has me wondering if I've got to do the same .My area can get up to 12" -18" of Snow and temps into the single digits

It must get really cold here as all the above ground water lines/ valves are wrapped in a thick protective blanket

Do that in Yuma (or most of Arizona) and you'll have a house full of sand.

We got a sneak preview of the ribs they were working on for the competition. I was surprised by the sweetness but then they explained that the judges damn near want them candied. Competition vs. everyday goodness - I'll take the everyday style.
No surf and turf here tonight. Pork roast with a liberal application of rub, two hours indirect in the kettle and the wife did up some charro beans in her Instant Pot (that she loves).

I left my windows open for maybe 45 min and everything now is dusty inside , have 15 to 30mph winds blowing guess that wasn't a smart idea
